Re: Pirated book when you own a copy

It's not OK legally AFAIK, but in terms of ethics, I say knock your socks off. You already shelled out money and the author got paid, so no harm done.

Re: Unredacted 'Intact' Sanskrit Tantras

I'm sure you know that book already, but in A Bolt of Lightning From the Blue, Martin Boord has assembled a collection of quotes from Tantras in Sanskrit that have to do with phur pa. He also translates an extract from a Vajrakīlaya tantra that was translated directly from Sanskrit by Sakya Pandita,...

the ngöndro table of context at Berotsana page doesn't mention mandala offering section. is it hidden somewhere?
There is a section in the book on mandala offering.

Re: How to deal with fear the Buddhist way?

Go see a doctor. There are a number of solutions available, from beta blockers (musicians use these -- they don't calm you down but prevent your voice and hands from shaking) to anti-anxiety meds. These are short-term solutions but they are useful in that they will get you through the stressful situ...

Here's one: http://www.buddhavisions.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Red-Kurukulle-Sadhana-by-Rigdzin-Chokyi-Dragpa.pdf It comes through the Drikung lineage, but the Drikungpas' lineage of this deity comes from Sakya, and ultimately originates from the same source -- the master Sahajavilāsa's sadhana...

Re: Question about the Pitāpūtrasamāgama-sūtra

It's a Mahāyāna Sūtra, from the Ratnakūṭa collection. Western scholars consider it a late Sūtra -- it was translated into Chinese only in 568 CE.

Tashi Delek, Can you help me out please? Can you spell my refuge name in Tibetan script? Also a translation / explanation would be really great, although I’ve already found out that the refuge name means ‘perfect Buddhahood’. The refuge name that was given to me is ‘sangye sangpo’. Thank you so muc...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Can I ask where the 700,000 number comes from? I’m currently doing accumulation based on SMS base (not in actual retreat so, it takes a while) and the given numbers are different. Is 700,000 based on the number of syllables? I saw the same number given in a different practice recently, so it doubly...

Re: Tibetan mountain protector

This could be from a verse in Vasubandhu's Abhidharmakośa (VIII, 39): "The teaching of the Buddha has two aspects: The elements of scripture and realization. These are maintained only through teaching And through practice." སྟོན་བའི་དམ་ཆོས་རྣམ་གཉིས་ཏེ། །ལུང་དང་རྟོགས་པའི་བདག་ཉིད་དོ། །དེ་འཛིན་བྱེད་པ་ས...
