Good luck finding the empty nature of dharmas, though. [Malcolm] When you don't find it, you have found it. I've been searching for years... I must be getting close. [Malcolm] If you are still searching, you haven't found it. An Account of the Tiāntāi Synthesis An Account of the Tiāntāi Synthesis

Re: Illuminating Quotes by Malcolm Namdrol-la

Impure vision is trekchö; pure vision is thögal. However, with the latter there is nothing you have to transform. You just have to get really, really, good at integrating with impure vision (trekchö) before you are generally given instructions (thögal) on how to allow pure vision to naturally unfol...

Re: Schizophrenia and parenthood

It is doubtful, if parents-to-be can really judge about the reduction of suffering for their child. I still think, concentrating on the shortcomings of the child is wrong thinking. The question if the parents are willing and have the ability to raise a child is more important, I believe. Schizophre...

Same here. Every person and creature is given chance in the world.. Also this kind of interpretation is very much Mengele. Sorry. You missed Jesse's point (as far as I have understood it)! And I guess you don't know what you're talking about. Sorry! It is about reducing suffering and not ab...

Re: Freedom From Buddha Nature by Thanissaro Bhikkhu & Zen Master Dogen

Why would Buddhanature not be impermanence? Because it is a contradiction in terms. Buddhanature is not a conditioned thing. Therefore, it cannot be impermanent. :good: Despite my great admiration for Dogen, I've never quite been able to understand him on this particular point. Then there's Nagarju...

I know of a Western Buddhist teacher who received a Heart Sutra Calligraphy from a contemporary Chinese Ch'an Master written with his own blood. So it is still done nowadays, but probably not very widespread, I guess.
