Don’t know the best places to go since I haven’t been there yet but I am going in September and have lots of friends who go there every few months. Thangkas you can find all over Kathmandu and the price depends on the artists the size like any piece of art. Hope others can give you better estimates ...

Thank you all I guess I will be going to Pharping in September. I will talk to my teacher about the recommendation all of you have suggested. Thank you all for your help I really want to further my practice and feel I need to go on a retreat to accomplish this.

So in the Nyingma tradition do you say Om mani pedme hum she? I met a Rinpoche here in chengdu that has a temple in aba sichuan . He told me that nyingma found a extra word in the mantra? So what do you think ? is it true?

the reason I asked is this is my friends teacher here in China . She said he's teacher is Seventeenth Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje .
