Re: Mantra siddhi

I should have explained in more detail, but I meant just relying on the mantra without doing elaborate yogas of the two stages. Many years ago I was present when someone suggested this to Thrangu Rinpoche and he answered; "without the visualisation there will be no siddhi". /magnus One just needs t...

Re: Who is Siddha Dorje Tsoncha?

He is an Indian master, several of his works dealing with outer tantras are included in Tengyur. His more common name is Dorje Kocha. As for his Indian name I think it is Vajravarman, not to be confuesd with the king Vajravarman of Bangala.

Re: Nyala Pema Dündul Treasures Holders

Hello All, Anyone knows who are and where can be found holders of the Nyala Pema Dündul terma treasures? in particular the Amitayus Terma. This new book contains a lot of interesting material about the Amitayus practice. https://shop.shangshungfoundation.com/en/restricted/839-the-long-life-practice...

Re: Retreats in tb

By this I meant external. One needs a mountain, a schedule, a person who carries food, etc. but I still think it doesn't guarantee that effectively it becomes retreat. Is it? Of course it does not guarantee it, but it helps. One of the purposes of the retreat is to isolate one´s three gates from no...

Re: Feeling sleepy

Hi, is it normal to feel sleepy during long life deity mantralization? One of my teachers told me that feeling sleepy (if you are not particularly tired or sick) during the practice can be a sign of past damage to samaya, he recomended doing Vajrasattva to clear this obstacle away or alternatively ...

Re: Retreats in tb

There are many different things that people call a "retreat" nowadays but in Tibetan context "retreat" - tsam literaly means "border". Which means that before undertaking retreat one sets up borders: A border of place - meaning where one is staying and where one is allowed to go. For example someone...

Why did Milarepa exactly consider Gampopa over Rechung when Rechung was a student of Milarepa WAY longer than Gampopa?
He did not, it is a monastic propaganda, nothing more. In fact Rechungpa was also one of Gampopa´s gurus.

Re: Gyalwang Drukpa teachings 2019

Dear friends, where is it possible to find informations about teaching schedule of Gyalwang Drukpa? His website drukpa.org seems to be somewhat outdated. I saw an event in Drukpa monastery in Darjeeling in February 2019, a teaching focusing on Guru devotion. But thats all. Moreover do they have any...

Does anyone know anything about the sung-ma (female Guardian) Khyung gShog rTsal (Gardua-winged Adept/Mighty One)? No mention of Her in Oracles and Demons of Tibet . Came across this name in a serkyem offering I'm translating. She seems to be the consort of Dam-tag/Dam-chen Dorje Duddul. Any inform...

Re: Backwards Ati

Having read some of teachings by Trungpa, I found several of his explanations dubious - especially his teachings on thogal and his explanation of Buddha Nature; which he explains as us having been actual buddhas, but then we somehow forgot that we are buddhas - inmplying that buddhahood is impermane...

Re: Khorwa Dongtruk in the Nyingma Kahma

This could mean many things. One thing is Khorwa Tongtrug as a specific form of red Avalokiteshvara, another thing is Khorwa Tongtrug as a term used in inner tantras. There is no practice of Khorwa Tongtrug in Nyingma Kama (Kama gyepa collection) - at least not in the one put together by Dudjom Rin...

Re: Mipham Rinpoche's termas

Mipham Rinpoche was not a terton, he was supposed to reveal termas but he refused to. He even wrote a text where he criticizes tertons of his time for wrting anything that comes to their mind and presenting that as a terma. He opined that old termas such as those of Guru Chowang and Nyangral Nyima O...

Re: Longde Protectors?

Also.....Ngondzog Gyalpo is used as Guru, is he also used as Yidam as well? Yes Ngondzog Gyalpo is a yidam connected to Longde practice. Longde is not something separate from Nyingma lineage, so same protectors as there are in Nyingma kama apply here - Mazadam sum, Maning, Legden etc. you can do an...

Re: What it means to be a ngakpa

But let me put it you this way. You would feel completely disrespected. Well, I am pointing out to you ...
