Re: Importance of Memory in Dharma

How important is memory in practicing Dharma? Memory is important to retain Dharma in our mind. If we recieve teachings but then forget them instantly what use are they? If we do not remember teachings we cannot apply them, because we do not remeber what to do and how to do. Patrul Rinpoche speaks ...

Re: Random Thoughts

Went to see Star Wars last night. I look pretty funny with 3D glasses on (over my regular glasses). You look like you could be from Tatooine. How was the movie? It exceeded my expectations. It is a very humorous movie and it never felt out of place... And you know, great fight scenes :jedi: Saw the...

Re: Buddhist Billionaire plans to change China

Sure there are people devoted to Tsar Putin for various reasons. However he can't manipulate the constitution endlessly and his time will likely really be up after the coming election (which he will once again steal). The revitalized institution of the Tsar won't outlast him (which I admit is *cont...

Re: Buddhist Billionaire plans to change China

More on the noble Guo, may he help to save China! http://freebeacon.com/national-security/justice-department-no-plans-extradite-dissident-china/ Freebeacon looks like news straight out of Trump's butt. Guo is a corrupt criminal not a noble knight :D Edit: Guo is a member of Trump's club so the conn...

Re: Buddhist Billionaire plans to change China

Guo's intentions for making China a democracy are questionable at least - they do not seem honest to me given the history of this guy. More than anything he has a beef with the present Chinese dictator a.k.a Winnie-the-Pooh

Chod is part of an actual cremation like that?
That wasn´t chod apart from that dance from Khandro Gegjang performed by that yogi at the end, but sadhana of Dudjom Lingpa´s Throma Nagmo with fire puja of Throma Nagmo.

Re: How do Lay People Become Khenpos?

What does one have to memorize? What texts does one need to be familiar with? What tasks does one have to complete? Thank you. Lay people do not and cannot become a khenpo (upadhyaya). Khenpo is a monastic title. In a strict sense it means preceptor, the one who gives precepts to monks, in other wo...

Re: Chatral Sangye Dorje

He wrote nothing. That is not true, Rinpoche wrote at least several texts, among them lineage prayer for Thugdrub Terkha Dundu and manual of drubchen of this practice. I hope his students will prepare and publish Rinpoche's sungbum. His sungbum just came out in 5 volumes. R That is great news, than...

Re: CRR Reincarnation Found?

From what I have heard at Drophen Ling in Poland, the Tulku has been found, at the time he was recieving education at Khordong monastery, but his identity was kept secret because of problems with communist government (which wants to remain the main authority in discovering tulkus :D ). This was some...

Re: The DJKR Topic

Vajrayāna and its teachers will have to adapt to the new, international circumstances in which it finds itself. Of course, given their penchant for following the dictates of the Communist Party, perhaps Chinese students will be more pliable to the dictates of "traditional" Tibetan gurus than we poo...

I find the whole situation of vajrayana in the West to be both tragical and hillarious. Guru Padmakara said, that master taking on disciples without checking whether they are suitable recipient of secrent mantra is like jumping of a cliff. Re: Ati Muwer

I have read the story of Ati Muwer as a powerful male guardian who was tamed and ridden by Padmasambhava. I have also read of Dorje Drolod and his mount, Ati Muwer, in this case a female tigress in her first heat. I heard the same from Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, but I don't know from what source Rinpo...

There is no retreat scheduled for November. I would not assume anybody can turn up there in person and be admitted. For all we know, there may be no WWT event with Rinpoche in person at all. Any member of the DC can go to any gar any time. Sure enough. Unless the geko is very busy or out and no one...

He was not the first Westerner authorized to teach Karma Kagyu tradition, gelongma Palmo (a.k.a Freda Bedi) was. I know Sister Palmo was highly regarded but I had not heard she was authorized to teach. Did she? I don’t think she ever did retreat. Yes, she even gave teachings to Ole and Hannah thems...
