What scriptures mention smoke offerings or the ritual burning of incense?
You mean sang? No sūtras mention Sang, since it is a native Tibetan custom.

Incense is mentioned frequently.
Ah that's what I guessed. Is there any particular sutra which deals with Health benefits of incense?

Re: Where can you hear worldly deities?

I'll watch it later, but since you're OP.... do you have any actual questions to be answered, or is this just sorta open-ended? Cause if it's open-ended, I have nothing more to contribute. I would call it, an open-ended discussion on the answer given by LJT. Is he talking about Devas? Or something ...

Re: To what extent do hell beings inhabit our world of physical objects?

I thought they could be reborn into chairs, tables, brooms, etc etc.... Those are temporary hells, but the hells realms do not, according to Mahāyāna thinking, have physical existence. I am also a bit confused by this one Loppön, what do you mean with "temporary hells"? Aren't all hells tem...

Re: Where can you hear worldly deities?

The question doesn't seem to make much sense. I at least cannot understand what it may be about. Why would you hear worldly deities and what does location have to do with it? Hmm guess it doesn't. The question that was asked in the Q&A video was "Can one communicate with worldly deities?", and I'm ...

Re: Prayers for Grigoris's Brother

OM AMI DEWA HRIH How are you dealing with your brothers passing Greg? I have more issues dealing with my parent's grief, than my brother's death. I did the requisite prayers and said my goodbyes, so... It's always shit to outlive your kids. May your parents find solace in their own faith, and may y...

Man, what do you mean? Do you hold that reality doesn't exist at all? Please elaborate, your statement is arousing our curiousity. All realities arise through interdependent origination. Ultimately, what reality is there to talk about? Indeed, there's only one reality in existence so there is no po...

But that’s not the reason. It’s because we all have to get along in a pluralistic world.
We can all respect each other while still maintaining our separate views. Besides a little friction is always fun.

Re: Can other religions/philosophies/practises complement Buddhadharma?

Moerover, as the Sabba sutta points out, there nothing other than the domain of phenomena, and those are included completely within in the twelve āyatanas. Another way to put it is that all compounded and uncompounded phenomena are included in one aggregate, one sense base, and one sense element, t...

The ultimate goal is not Buddhist or Hindu or Christian, those distinctions only exist in the domain of phenomena. .
And given that we are not Buddhas, the domain of phenomena is all we have to play with.
