I come to understand why there's such a big quota of "silent readers" in this forum... I removed those regarding posts. I remember a te...

Oh really. 80% of the worlds food originated in the Western Hemisphere, where oral tradition extends back 10,000 years in shamanic colleges and universities, and I think they would disagree with this premise. What are you talking about??? I will just add to what kusulu posted. "Hold the pickles" :t...

Re: Why did Patrul Rinpoche say so little about the benefits of liberation?

To me that sounds like contemplating the faults of samsara. I would have expected a chapter titled "the benefits of liberation" to talk about why enlightenment is good, not a repeat on why samsara is bad. But there is no such elaboration, so my expectation is wrong. Maybe it's because liberation is...

84,000 pays $250 per folio side. People pay, are getting paid, etc. Nothing is free. In this case, since the main donor for this project is a millionaire several times over, it is no sweat of his or her back since most of those millions were donations anyway, to begin with. Someone always pays. The...

Re: Decreased interest in Tantric practice

It's not daily, it's a weekly commitment, and I usually do it with a group. Anyway, the conflict I'm finding is that my Vajra brothers and sisters with whom I regularly interact in meatspace are not Dzogchenpa for the most part, and tend to be much more excited about and focused on initiations etc....

Re: in search of a ethical way to deal with spiders

Black widows are my main fear. They probably won't be a problem now that i am in this new apartment and dont have to deal with a wood pile though. I have many black widows where I live. They nest in the underside of the outside chairs. They are very shy and not aggressive .They do not seem to like it...
