Re: Who is America ?

Yes, fascists/alt-right are big on memes and that screenshot proves nothing. But your second comment is telling. I don't think most voters in the US thought about it this way, but the fact that all the various faults of Trump on full public display were not enough of a deal-breaker should be a huge...

Re: The owl

I've always heard that crows/ravens are emissaries of Mahakala. Eagles and hawks are dra-la and commonly signify protection. Seeing them is typically considered good. Living in Colorado, we see a lot. Never been told anything about owls, but I love them. Once was asked to get vulture feathers for a...

Re: The owl

There is no specific citation, but it says in the Bibliography So, counting what is listed as bibliography (parallel to the restricted materials), there are around 40 non-restricted texts. Im afraid that the sources makes difficult to trace back the bibliography used on specific matters, like owl's...

Just the 17, they are the most important.

Rinpoche is presently alone in the shrine hall preparing for the upcoming ceremonies (refuge vows, bodhisattva vows, ocean of Amrita puja). He didn't want the first par...

Re: Tai chi and Qi gong in your practice

I have done martial arts and Qigong for years. I don't see see Qigong as a Dharma practice, but certainly you can do it with a Bodhicitta motivation, and dedicate merits, like anything. Martial arts of course are controversial to many Buddhists, and perhaps for valid reasons, it's a complicated sub...

Re: The owl

From Robert Beer's Enciclopedia of Tibetan Simbols and Motifs, section of Domestic and Wild Animals, p. 85 and and p. 88 Seem's like a being that nurtures from death, linked to wrathful deities as emissaries: apparently simbols a way, a mean, a media, to deliver a message. Some owl materials can be...
