Re: "Wild Wild Country" - Osho documentary on Netflix

I wonder how the film would pan out if it were about Trungpa and Shambhala in those days. We would see a group who seemed to play out with militarism, there was sexual abusive activity, there was an adoring group of followers and a charismatic leader who liked dressing up. Those times...70’s and 80...

Re: How to NOT annoy the guru?

How about when trying to find the time to ask him about how to purify oneself of the anger of spirits such as nagas? Just ask him, genuine practice questions about your issues will please him, it's all in your head about annoying your guru in my experience. Before you ask him, think about it though...

A Dharma Brother we will call James Rutke because that is his name, a student of ChNN was with Osho for
some time and had only good things to say about him.

The leaning to the right is so strong i believe if Nixon were alive and
well he would give trump a run for his money as a Dem.

Re: Will america reelect a wanna be dictator

Trump's re-election depends entirely on whom the Dems put up. If they choose a feel-good knee-jerk progressive with all the politically correct opinions, then Trump will be re-elected for sure and we're all doomed. If the Dems get their heads out of a dark warm place and choose someone more middle-...

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

ChNNR has taught on all these points, so from my side I don't see any contradiction. It is some of "The important preliminaries" list that i never heard Rinpoche teach giving that title. There doesn't need to be some quoted title for ChNNR to teach on these points. Edit: Had to fix my awful grammar...

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

The important preliminaries are refuge, bodhichitta, contemplation of death & impermanence, vow of virtuous conduct, matbe nonconceptual samadhi, maybe the 7 branch prayer. If a Dzogchen practitioner has forgotten about these points: prob good to look them over. I think i will stick with ChNNR's ad...

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

Someone kindly pointed me to the following text, explaining the different vehicles viewed from a Dzogchen perspective: The Art of Nakedness: Bearing it all for the single nature of mind, a look at Buddhist salvation (written by Omega Point). Who is omega point? What is his (I am sure it is a "he") ...

Seriously? I'd like to know which Lama said this.
Me. Or does it have to be a Tibetan? A Western, classically-trained ācārya is not good enough for you?
No. I need a lineage holder.

Re: original as misnomer

I often come across references to Original Mind, Nature, etc.in discussions of Buddhism (especially Zen). However, i don't see a lot of intellectual rigor in these discussions; if we break things down, Original is defined as 'inherent' or sometimes indicates a temporal reference, i.e. like a child....
