Re: The Dharmadatu Palace of Omin

That is a prayer to one's root guru. Look at the last line of the prayer it should mention this explicitly as the object of the supplication.

Re: 108 great tertöns

The number 108 is purely symbolic in this case and actually in Tibetan they're usually referred to as the 100 Tertons (gter ston brgya rtsa) though some translators assume this implies 108. Kongtrul's biography collection is based on earlier similar collections as well prophetic lists of future Tert...

Khyentse Wangpo's terton name was Padma Osel Dongak Lingpa, not Dagnang Lingpa, so you're conflating two different people here

Adzom Paylo Rinpoche another Crestone Rinpoche left a thumb print in a stone when he was in Colorado, in fact he did it in front of a group of students. He is known for such feats, he was asked to do it, and asked that only those with faith be present when he did, he left only his thumb print and s...

Re: What Does Dzogchen Say About It’s Origins?

Actually yes there are. Magnus you are making claims about something you clearly have not studied. There are numerous cosmologies presented in early Dzogchen literature like the 17 Tantras and in later treasures that tell very different stories of how the world was formed and Samantabhadra came into...

Don't forget Roerich who gave us the translation of the Blue Annals that every Buddhist scholar of the past 40 years has a dog-eared copy of sitting on their book shelves. He was a product of Theosophy that also brought us the whole "Jesus lived in India" thing. He also fancied himself the King of S...

Re: Autonomous "kriyas" recognized in Tibetan Buddhism

I totally agree that Buddhism and Hinduism are not one and the same (at least not from the Buddhist POV), but I know a Tibetan Buddhist Lama who has what you are calling kriyas and what others might call Shaktipat. When doing Phowa transmission with H.E. Ayang Rinpoche, I've seen a number of Buddhi...

Re: Dharmakaya aspect?

There's no such thing as "Dhyani" Buddhas. That term was coined by an Englishman that was stationed in Nepal in the 1800's. It simply refers to the representatives of the five buddha families.

No snga 'gyur rnying ma was already in use by that time. Zurchen Shakya Jungne, who was ten years older than Marpa, coined the term bka' ma to differentiate their early translation tradition from those following the new gter ma traditions, thereby dividing the Nyingma into two camps.

Re: question on distingushing mind from it's nature

In terms of the discussion of 'self-liberated' this is a translation of rang grol and the grol in this case is an intransitive verb. In other words it does not have an object that is liberated or liberates from. This is an important point. It does NOT mean liberated by itself it means that it is inh...

The spelling is wrong. it should be dad pa'i gdung dbyangs. The full title is mkha' 'gro'i rgyal mo ye shes mtsho rgyal la gsol 'debs dad pa'i gdung dbyangs. Not sure what you would like to know other than what you've already mentioned that it's a prayer to Yeshe Tsogyal composed by Mipham.
