Re: My new neighbor

I certainly hope she's not creeped out. I've only had a few actual conversations with her, I see her outside all the time and just say "hi." Anyway, I've lived on my own pretty much my whole adult life. And I agree with you that if I dated her and it didn't work out then it would probably ...

Re: My new neighbor

Thanks everyone, I just had a LONG conversation worth her this afternoon. She insisted that both guys are just friends and that she is single. I told her so am I and I truly feel like we had a moment there.

This is the problem I think. I like her.

Re: My new neighbor

The only poster I really felt attacked by was Karma Dorje,

And I'd ignore the whole thing if it wasn't right outside my window. I don't really care what any of them does(as long as they"re not breaking the law), but keep it away from me is my stance. Anyway, thank you for posting Kevin.

Re: My new neighbor

Any shred of respect that I had for her is now completely gone. Perhaps they have an open relationship. Maybe she is polyamorous. Maybe the first guy is gay and they hang out a lot, sleepovers even. If this were a guy seeing multiple woman, would you feel the same way? If not, examine yourself for ...

Re: My new neighbor

The lady doth protest too much, methinks. Sounds like a perfect place to practice, right there with your neuroses about sexuality. To have such a visceral reaction to the perceived morality of a woman you just met says a lot more about you than her. Meditators really can't have that kind of uptight...

Maybe you can invite some friends to your cottage as well?
I don't think the earplugs or dark glasses would really help. If I had some friends it would be good though, to kind of go through this experience with me. Thanks for the suggestions.

Re: My new neighbor

Well the guy stayed the whole night and left in the morning, and now the first guy is back and it's just like the whole thing never happened. Absolutely makes my skin crawl, I'm sorry but it does. And no I certainly won't be "hitting on her" now(I like to take things slow anyway). I don't ...

Re: My new neighbor

No, I won't say it like that. I'll ask her if we can talk and then if she says yes(I think she will), I'll just very tentatively and non-threateningly ask who that guy was. And yes, she will likely say it's non of my business. To which I'll say but I have to live next to it though. Oh well. I really...

Re: My new neighbor

Yes, I know.. I know. My biggest issue is that I'm RIGHT NEXT TO IT though. When they're saying their goodbyes at night I could reach my hand out the window and touch the guy's shoulder. I mean he's literally right in front of my window. Not his fault, just how close these cottages are. Also he's a ...

My new neighbor

Hello again everyone.. someone might remember me from a couple years ago. If not, that's ok. I just moved into a new place the beginning of May(almost a month and a half ago). I'm single and the first day I really connected with the women who lives right next to me, these units are veeery close toge...

Re: Adultery and Being a Buddhist

Hello ChrisK,

You need to decide what's most important to you.

Is it your spiritual walk(which is ultimately all we have). Or is it your own gratification. The second one typically only leads to ruin. This is a choice you really need to make friend.

Hello, My name is Byrne. I live in the USA and travel around it year round for work. My interest in Buddhism began 20 years ago when I was 15, originally Zen/Chan though I've recently embraced Pure Land Buddhism, which in a roundabout way brought me back to the source I first caught a glimpse of wh...

Obviously a complex issue and not everyone will agree. My only hope is that people will make their decisions from a place of wisdom and compassion. Ivo, I wish you nothing but the best.

Hello, Yeah I'm not recognized as anything in any tradition either. I just do my daily meditation practice and read books by Buddhist authors. That's basically it. Anyway, welcome!
