Chogyam Trungpa

Being too young to have experienced it myself, I have often heard "bad stories", and then some very good ones about Chogyam Trungpa only recently. Honestly I never started to read a book of him for the reason of the bad stories. I wonder, what stuff did actually happen, and what made him such a cont...

Standing Meditation

I have read several times 'meditation can be done sitting, standing or lying down'.
Generally for the sitting and lying there are specific instructions given. What about the standing? Anybody has ever received instructions specifically on it? Or read about it?

Did the Buddha Really Have a Wife and Son?

https://tricycle.org/trikedaily/buddhas-family/

I often ask myself what something like this actually means in regard to the other stories my Tibetan teachers tell.

Get the materials (CD + booklet) on Shitro and do it, it is not so hard. Also you probably should have lung for Avalokiteshvara Khorwa Tongrtug, which also can be used to benefit dead people.
Do you mean the book "Teachings on Shitro and Yangti" ?

Re: Merry Christmas (Thangka)

I'm very surprised that some many of you seem to have a problem with Christmas. Fake goodwill, over consumption. Well, it doesn't have to be that way. Totally depends on you and your people. And probably of the country and culture you live in ;) You could also practise, another day of kindness, pati...

yoga

We are all aware of the hype on physical exercises all called Yoga. Recently I even met many Yoga teachers which came to the conclusion 'you know this kind of Yoga is not really Yoga, not like it was practised in India" then they continue to explain "but I do Hatha Yoga which is the real deal". Mayb...

Cutting hair

So I have been thinking of cutting my long hair ;) Somehow it feels like it's time, on the other hand... It made me wonder, why do monks have a shaven head in many traditions? Does do anything with us psychologically? Some folks told me that people tend to cut their hair during 'big changes in their...

Is it physiologically actually true that stale breath is in the body and with exercises we clean it out?

I also saw that on Andrew's site there are several courses, one hosted on tricycle.

I wonder if they have any benefit if one read the book.

TCM vs Tibetan Medicine

I am trying to start looking into both subjects, one after another. But curious already: Are the two systems compatible, similar?

In which way do they differ?
