Re: Ole Nydahl´s sectarian meltdown

As long as you respect the teacher, teaching, sangha and samayas you can go to different teacher. We are independent. Yes we can ask a teacher if he/she thinks if it would be good to receive teachings from other lama (for example if you are part of some practice curriculum), but I honestly think it...

Re: Help on shamatha

My take on Buddhist meditation of any kind, is that it’s a really demanding discipline. Face it - ‘don’t sleep in, get up early and sit still in an uncomfortable position for some significant period of time’ - minutes or hours, depending on your fortitude. And why? Don’t ask for a reason - only pra...

Re: Can any one help me know if I was born on Guru Rinpoche Day?

I just had a question really... I'm looking for someone who is a practicing Buddhist who can confirm something for me. I personally am moved by the stories about Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche. I wondered whether or not I was born on His day. It is said that He visits on the 10th day after a New Mo...

Re: Mirror divination

I bet there are many lamas, maybe not just that famous for it, or specialised. If you look at Lama Dawa's lineage you might find some students of his who could be able to do it. I bet you do not have to go to Tibet in order to find it. Many lamas do Mo divinations.

Re: US and Allies Launch Strikes on Syria

Sadly it had to be expected. Trump has to give some small chance for extra profit to the military industry. Won't solve anything really, poor people. :focus: If you want world peace then practice compassion, so basically any buddhist practice with proper motivation to liberate others. This world is ...

Just follow the live stream that will be streamed and do what they do.

I do not think so. You will probably be give 37bodhisattva practices book and refuge card and maybe some prayer book, not sure. But you wont be told what to do next, or what to do.

Mantras for Garchen Rinpoche's long life

Hello, at the moment there are two projects which aim at accumulating mantras for Garchen Rinpoche's long life. 1. There is One Billion accumulation for Garchen Rinpoche, you can add your mantras (and probably also find more info) here http://www.drigar-dargyeling.com/web/index.php It ends in two da...

Basic fitness

Hey, I was just wondering, since many of dharmawheel guys workout, what would you recommend for someone who just wants to train the whole body as much as possible with nothing but his own body and a couple of weights at home? I am not very muscly, nor very interested in painful workouts. My only exe...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Is there a DC melody for the Vajra Guru and/or the mani mantra? Mani is done with the same melody like 6 lokas syllables. Do you know of any specific recording where it is included? Not really honestly. It is included in a cd that comes with czech version of Avalokiteshvara Khorwa Kongtrug practice...

Re: Vegetarian Diet Recommendations

Name me a nutrient that one cannot get from a vegetable source. B12, if I'm not mistaken. This is why vegans and vegetarians are recommended to supplement for B12. Studies have also shown that vegans are more likely to have bone fractures, due to a lack of calcium in the diet. The point is that tho...

Dunno really, but it is in many way just like normal student teacher relationships... teacher teaches, student listens and maybe asks questions.

Re: Wanting to convert, still have unexplained doubts and fears,So I found this forum!

Hmmm that is a hard position you are in. I'd recommend to relax a bit. If you are into nembutsu try reading sutras or books connected to the practice. Explore for a while and you will see. Great intro to buddhism book is "What makes you not a buddhist" by Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche. Wery thin, but g...

Yes, it is. But not with ChNNR's melody. Often a part of liberation of wearing mantras. Also there are several version. /magnus Yes, if I remember correctly the melody is really something special. It came to Rinpoche as a part of his Jnanadakiny dreams or it is from Jnanadakini. Either way it is sp...

oh, if you connect the dots then the longsal series can be the answer. also, afaik ChNN said once that SOV can be found in sutras, but i don't know exactly where search for it :( Also, I was wondering if SoV is practiced by other lineages. I don't think I've seen it mentioned anywhere else so far. ...
