Re: Dudjom Tröma Nagmo ngondro

Adamantine, thanks for clarification. that's not my idea, i've been told that those whose heart practice is Thröma Nakmo has 3 vows: body - not cutting your hair, action - always remain natural and never correct the way you display yourself, mind - remain in true nature of mind. these are not exact...

Re: Sogyal, etc. split from THE SELF-ARISEN VIDYA TANTRA thread

I would venture to opine that if anyone here were to review the life story of Drukpa Kunleg in detail, it’d be hard not to find some instances that would look like sexual assault on an ordinary level, especially from a modern Western POV.

Re: Sogyal, etc. split from THE SELF-ARISEN VIDYA TANTRA thread

Well there’s a documented story of the great wandering advadhoot Shaivite yogi Bhagavan Nityananda where wearing just his simple dhoti (he was often totally naked which could be construed as sexual assault alone in some places) approached a women on a road and immediately grabbed both of her breasts...

Re: Sogyal, etc. split from THE SELF-ARISEN VIDYA TANTRA thread

Sex crimes are by definition not done with bodhicitta motivation. In the same sense I t is also possible to do an otherwise virtuous action with criminal intent. As I just said, there is never a circumstance that allows for a negative mind since that cannot be a remedy to a situation. Right, which ...

Re: Dudjom Tröma Nagmo ngondro

none by now, thank you. just to clarfiy, all my confusion stemmed from the book of Pema Rigtsal and his site. yes he mentioned his sublime father and yet he has no separate section about him in his book. instead, he has sections about Choying Khyabdal, Khenchen Dazer, Thrinley Norbu Rinpoche, Dodru...

Re: Sogyal, etc. split from THE SELF-ARISEN VIDYA TANTRA thread

What were the purported signs upon Sogyal Rinpoche’s passing?
Were there any? Did he leave relics? Asking sincerely all I heard
was just simply that he passed away.. nothing extraordinary.. Was he in tukdam for any period?

Re: Dudjom Tröma Nagmo ngondro

Adamantine, thank you brother! :) but please, whenever you have an opportunity to make an inquiry, ask if it is certainly so. not that i doubt your knowledge - but Pema Rigtsal stated clearly in his book that those 2 are not just "some other great lamas", those are his root gurus, especially Khench...

Re: Dudjom Tröma Nagmo ngondro

i am not making any claims, i just thought that being Dudjom Tersar lineage holder doesn't mean one has Thröma as his main practice, does it? long hair vow is specifically Thröma vow. so my way of thinking is even if Pema Rigtsal Rinpoche is Dudjom Tersar lineage holder and coming from Dudjom Töluk...

Re: Troma nagmo and rainbow body

i've read the article at rigpawiki about first Degyal Rinpoche, who is considered as one of 13 Dudjom Lingpa's disciples with rainbow body attainment, and yet in the article it is said about his "elbalmed body" without any mentions of it shrinking. i'm confused how does that constitute a rainbow bo...

Re: Dudjom Tröma Nagmo ngondro

...I’ll ask.. Adamantine, yes, please do. about Pema Rigtsal my confusion is Thröma Nakmo practitioners has 3 vows of natural abiding from what i understand, one of them is not cutting hair. and Pema Rigtsal is a bhiksu whose 2 root gurus are from Longchen Nyigthig (Khenchen Dazer and Choying Khyab...

Re: Dudjom Tröma Nagmo ngondro

Hi y’all, I haven’t checked in here for long stretch..catching up a little now. For what it’s worth, there’s a big variety of Lamas’ and Rinpoches’ styles in the Dudjom Tersar especially when it comes to formality and restrictions. Of course it’s best to find the Lama with which one feels a good aff...

Re: Offering mandala plates

Are you sprinkling the base plate with the bumpa water
(containing bumzey 25) first, then rubbing in a clockwise circle
with your wrist before applying the grain heaps?

Usually this foundational moisture would create the conditions
for the grain to stick a little more.

Re: Looking for help with severe provocations

Where is your friend located? One of the best things would be if an accomplished Chodpa could do some particular Chod practices with your friend present in the same place. This is my opinion because I know for a fact of cases of provocation/possession where intensive Dudjom tersar Chod practices per...

Lama Tony Duff suggests that "relative truth" or "conventional truth" is most correctly translated as "fictional truth." To me, that says it all.

Not interested at all in discussing man ngag sde in an online Dzogchen forum, let alone a sub dedicated to general Dharma. I'm not sure how you'd think this is appropriate, or who could possibly benefit. :good: He’s a Bonpo so you have to cut him some slack... the Bonpos are very open about Dzogche...

Certainly Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche gives Gesar
transmissions from Mipham Rinpoche... they (PBC) have a whole book of Mipham Gesar practices they translated.

Re: Question for those who carry a mala in daily life

A quotation comes to mind, which I think is accurate, but unfortunately I can't recall it's source..Maybe Gore Vidal? "Hippies, whose rejection of money is equalled only by their love of what it buys". In my experience, especially true when the money was a Govt benefit. Spending their dole money br...

Re: Question for those who carry a mala in daily life

Some photo examples for good measure. Malas as jewlery is the new black. It just happens to be contrary to Vajrayana etiquette. Malas as fashion wear started in the 60's. Indeed, and that was before my time so I can’t have any certainty... however I believe the role of Dharma center gift stores in ...
