Re: sang and serkyem practice

I never seen that done, I am not sure why you would do that. No, it is all going outside. /magnus Yeah, I only ask because in the sang and serkyem booklet it says "for Sangchod you should prepare serkyem". I am still confused about what that means. Means you need to make a serkyem for the offerings...

Re: Why is adultery and prostitution bad?

Also re: prostitution, its legal in a number of countries and regulated, with consistent STI testing etc. and this is far different than people sold or manipulated through illegal sex trafficking. Even here in the U.S. I've had friends who have been sex workers at times and were not desperate or add...

Re: Why is adultery and prostitution bad?

Wow I'm quite surprised by some of the binary and purely culturally-conditioned thinking exhibited in most of the answers here. Polyamory is the closest parallel to our biologically developed human sexual needs as evidenced by humans for the majority of our existence on the planet...which only chang...

Re: Trungpa Rinpoche and The Truth.

CTR had a highly developed sense of fun. He also sent himself up frequently. As well as not taking various elements of Buddhist customs over- seriously. If he declared so and so to be a 'tulku' the possibility that he was making a point about others taking things too seriously should not be discoun...

Re: 7th head of the Nyingmapa

Katok Getse Rinpoche was been appointed head of the Nyingma lineage for three years, yesterday in Bodhgaya http://tibet.net/2018/01/kathok-getse-rinpoche-appointed-as-the-7th-nyingma-head/ What's most interesting is this new 3-year term rotation that's been developed. . . I suppose it's quite a bur...

I tried tuning into Aro but the aether just didn't vibrate my way, even with nakedness and an orgone box I just couldn't hit the mark. Here Mantrik, maybe this visual aid will help y...

Re: The Aro Authenticity Debate.

Ozay Rinpoche is a well-known personage on the Internet where he works as an Ego Slaughterer. Before ‘slaughtering egos’ Ozay spent some time in prison where he started a vigorous discipline of Bible reading and meditation practice. This process allowed Ozay to escape his imprisonment --not from th...

Re: The Aro Authenticity Debate.

:thanks: There are plenty of Buddhists who think Krishnamurti is a fine fellow and that his teachings are wonderful, some of them are quite famous as well. Are they wrong? If this report is correct, maybe it has some value. You're citing CTR? Wasn't that guy an alcoholic and womanizer? Maybe off top...

Re: New Rigpa letter

Reminder that Lakar never actually gave empowerments. As you can see in this extensive list of empowerments given to the Rigpa sangha, he gave one called Tendrel Nyesel a number of times over the years. I'm sure there are many who did not receive that from him, and many who did. http://www.rigpawik...

Re: New Rigpa letter

While the letter does not specify, I am in agreement that it was most likely inspired by the intensity of the attacks on social media directed at Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, which were in response to a number of his own posts, beginning with the one he made about Sogyal. That said, it's open ended a...

Re: Spirit attack

I'd visit an authentic Nyingma Ngakpa center, Lama, or commission a puja at least from a distance from one. Authentic ngakpa yogis specialize in the types of reversing practices you may require. If possible, attend a Gutor / reversing practice puja before the Tibetan New Year, and include offerings ...

This fact should not be underestimated.

Re: Alan Wallace DZ related Q&A

I enjoy listening to his teachings. Instead of the usual vajrayana ngöndro that culminates in guruyoga, he has people cultivate shamatha, the four close applications of mindfulness, and the four immeasurables. He says that this approach is more suitable for many people, and he cites traditional lam...

Re: Gems, crystals and semi-precious gemstones in Tibetan Buddhism

MiphamFan, Yes, my Teacher would agree that Bodhiseed are good for everything. As Loppon says, "Suitable for all." But my Teacher would also say (if He were still alive) that, for particular practices, certain types of malas are more effective. It's not an either/or situation. As is said many, many...
