Re: Mind essence introduced in advaita and TB

It does not in fact apply, since these Hindus and Bonpos actively sought to harm Buddhadharma, or so it is told. I see. So that’s a context for one type of exception.. Aside from that, there is the fact that 12th samaya only applies to Buddhists. It has nothing to do with nonbuddhists at all, despi...

Re: Mind essence introduced in advaita and TB

How does all of this history of Buddhist tantrikas battling Hindus or Bonpos in debate, winning and apparently humiliating them.. jive with the 12th root downfall of the 14? "To cause those beings who have faith To grow disillusioned is the twelfth.", as I was taught this applies to those with fait...

Re: Dudjom Throne Holder: Tulku Pema Rigstal Rinpoche in Melbourne Jan 23- Feb 8

For what it’s worth, I strongly encourage anyone with sincere interest in Dzogchen in general and the Dudjom tersar in particular to make a connection with this great master.

That said, this should probably go in the events section of the site.

Re: CBD oil

I guess to share how things are going - I've continued daily drops, in the morning with breakfast. This is after morning practice. I also switched to a different brand that is advertised as made under clinical conditions - who knows? Its more expensive. And way more expensive than what they sell at...

Re: Korean home altar

Hi, I'll be moving to Korea in just over a month or so, and I want to know about setting up a Buddhist altar in the Korean tradition. I haven't been able to find much information about Korean Buddhist altars online. Are they like Japanese butsudans or more like Chinese altars? Can you get the sort ...

Re: CBD oil

I’ve tried a “full spectrum” cbd oil so I can’t comment on the strictly cbd, cbd oils. From what I was told, full spectrum contains all the other cannabinoids from the plant, aside from THC.. some of these are known to be mildly psychoactive. I have certainly felt a subtle mind-shift, and a bit of a...

Re: Non-Duality in Dzogchen vs Advaita Vedanta

Pretty sure that Nyoshel Khnepo would not make such a claim. So perhaps you're right. Anyone who departs from a strict sense of orthodoxy -- and what is Dzogchen if not a highly orthodox system, with an entryway smaller than the proverbial eye of a needle -- can't possibly be right about Dzogchen. ...

Re: Are Bonpos vegetarian?

And more seriously: We all have those projections as part of our life. Why we use toilets instead of more "natural" behavior? Even Dzogchen masters use toilets. The point here is that it's not about abandoning our projections, but seeing their illusory nature. From the absolute point of view, being...

It is at Zangdog Palri in Arunachal Pradesh, AFAIK.
They kept the Kundung preserved? In a stupa?
It is preserved, but not in a stupa I think.
Ok I’ll add that to my pilgrimage bucket list 🙏

I just made a request for salt that was changed 5 or 6 times during the initial preservation of Rinpoche's body.

Hmmmmn how does one make that request?

Re: New terma and their continuation outside of a lineage.

Interesting that this Khenpo dresses in lay clothes. Generally the title Khenpo is reserved for gelongs: those holding the full set of monastic vows. Nowadays many Khenpos who have achieved the title while monks, who later give back their vows (or break them?) maintain the title due to people’s habi...

Re: empowerment for Dudjom Tersar Ngondro

Hi Johnny D, I’d also look into Tashi Choling in Ashland OR or Dorje Ling in Portland. They are both Dudjom tersar centers also. If you could receive the lung from Sangye Khandro, that would be fortunate... there would likely be other Lamas in residence or visiting from time to time. Worth contactin...

Re: Shambhala closes NYC center

According to Lionsroar.com, Shambhala is to close it's NYC center in Manhattan. Based at 22nd Street between 5th and 6th, the article states that they can no longer afford the $30k per month rent. Are we seeing the first tangible knock on effect of the recent scandal? Frankly, it is ridiculous and ...
