Re: Santa La Muerte

Mantra and pujas are not about feelings. Its wise to have a foundational understanding of Dharma before practicing mantra, IMO. BTW, in Mexico she us referred to as La Santa Muerte. People feel very strong about her whether in favor or not. This spirit has no connection to Buddhadharma. She is frequ...

Re: Giving Up Masturbation

Give up onions, garlic, scallions, chives, and leeks. I've heard Malcolm say from a Tibetan medicine perspective that the action can be healthy, but there are certain seasons when it should be minimized.

Many people pray to her to get something or someone they want. She is neither enlightened nor oath bound and she doesn't do something for nothing. Perhaps she us a gyalpo. I advise starring clear.

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

He is a mixture. .One of the most effective practices for controlling negativities is Guru Tragphur. This Guru Tragphur, however, is very special because it is the union of Hayagriva, Vajrapani, Garuda and Vajrakilaya as well as Yangdag Heruka. This practice is a terma of my uncle Heka Lingpa, also ...

Re: Door of the Earth?

I don't know what either of those things are but don't go pissing Gyalpos off (or any other beings for that matter). If you have some trouble, invoke and let the protectors sort it out. Too late. I once practiced a Sakya gyalpo that was reincarnated as a Gelug gyalpo that took trance in an oracle. ...

This could be debated as there are a variety of religions that include some Buddhadharma, such as right speech, right action , etc, but this is not the proper place.

Re: ChNN on Jesus?

In general, Māra appears in visions and dreams. When one has such visions and dreams, there are ways to test whether or not that vision or dream is a Māra. The point of course is that one needs to be careful about trusting visions and dreams. This is discussed in both the sūtras and the tantras. In...

ChNN is not Buddhist canon.
But he is the root guru of many here and is the reincarnation of Adzom Drukpa. Many consider him to be enlightened. For others, he is just another lama.

Re: ChNN on Jesus?

Loppon Malcolm, have you changed your position since you made these comments in 2012 or am I misunderstanding? [quote="Malcolm"]As ChNN says, if you regard god a symbol of your primodial potentiality, then there is no problem. In any event, you can just keep assuming that your point of view is right...

Re: What attracted you to Dzogchen?

I was raised Christian but sometimes got into conflict with my doctrine professors because I was struggling with views that I later found out were Dzogchen. I later converted to Theravada, but to me it seemed nihilistic. I am thankful to Loppon Namdrol and others at the former E-sangha who introduce...

Re: ChNN on Jesus?

Years ago during a retreat I remember ChNN saying that you could use Jesus in guru yoga if you understood him to represent the guru that unifies all, but he also commented that he didn't know why someone would do this since Jesus had no connection to Dzogchen. I also remember him saying something to...
