Re: Sidpa Gyalmo mantras

Bön is since some years ago more open than other traditions about openly discussing higher practices and such; but when it comes to Guardian Mantras of any tradition including Bönpo ones, it seems wrong to post them on an open forum like this.

Autumn Equinox is in about ten hours.

I believe the multiplication of merits is 10,000, 100,000, or maybe even a million or more.

Re: Narak Kong Shak Questions

Does anyone know if there’s a Bönpo equivalent of Narag Tongtrug (most likely from Bön’s Mother Tantra)?

Some people may see Bön as a copy of Gelug and Nyingma, and in some ways there are such elements; but overall I completely disagree with this idea.

Re: Narak Kong Shak Questions

Narag Tongtrug is from Mahayoga and Anuyoga yes? Not even directly related to the Semde cycle? If that’s the case, then if you’ve received Transmissions from a authentic Lineage Holder ‘higher’ than Anuyoga, then you can just do the said ‘higher’ practices—‘higher’ yet ‘simpler’/more suited to a ‘si...

Re: Obtaining a specific rebirth as a transgender

Nemo, There is an transgender person at my corporate job who was in the military; and he’s a pretty cool guy. Interestingly enough he’s non-PC on many issues, and is pro-freedom of speech for the most part. He is sensitive to transgender issues in some ways obviously, but has also joked and laughed ...

Re: Right-wing psychology

Some good points made in this thread. Seemingly most if not all pro-trumpers are foolish, and most anti-trumpers are bandwagon fools. Also, what we might ideally have, is a ‘true’-moderate (or maybe someone center-right). That is, not controlled by corporate interests (I’m not necessarily talking s...

Re: "Book Guru"?

If you feel a connection to a Nyingmapa Lama, then maybe you could have a picture of them or visualize them and say the outer Guru Mantra of Padmasambhava (it’s famous, so it would be easy to find if you don’t know what it is already).

Re: Praying to Jetsun Dolma

At the beginning of our Buddhist practice (and perhaps even for many years), we experience praying with our deluded, dualistic mind. At some point on the path, with perseverance and merit, dualism disappears and one realizes that it is the wisdom mind that is praying and that no thought, word, or a...

...The Vajrayana approach is to directly look at the poison and experience its fundamental nature. By doing this, the poison is immediately transformed into wisdom. However, this does not mean indulging in the poisons. If one experiences one of the poisons and fails to either A) renounce it, B) app...

Excellent.

I’m no fan of his ‘Regent’s’ actions (my personal take; not to judge too much).

As you know the 16th Karmapa is highly regarded, and he also held ChNNR in high regard.

Also, Chögyam Trungpa was a student of one of the Gyalwa Dalai Lama’s main Gurus, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

Re: What is Mount Meru?

Not to create an “either/or” predicament. Perhaps merely an feeble attempt on my part to resolve an seeming-“either/or”-predicament. I need to read Jamgon Kongtrul’s writing on Dzogchen Cosmology. See”Myriad Worlds”, book 1 of his Treasury of Knowledge. Last chapter. Right. Thank you. I knew it was ...
