Re: boring questions about losing weight

I have been doing intermittent fasts continuously for more than 20 years now. I eat only once a day (every day except weekends) and feel no hunger during the day. See the thread I posted to above over at DWT. I've been doing one meal a day for a long time too and maintain my ideal weight...

All Buddhas had at least one Guru, even the Buddha Shakyamuni.

Re: Gelug ngondro

The Gyalwa Dalai Lama has received teachings from Kagyu, Gelug, Sakya, Nyingma, Bön, and I’m assuming Jonang as well. All Tantric Ngondro’s achieve the same thing, and it’s best to do the one(s) you received from your Teacher(s). I hope you get a chance to receive a Ngondro directly from the Gyalwa ...

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think that it’s good for one’s own practice to tell others what one’s personal main practice is.

Re: Locational Energy

Sorry I should have clarified; when I said “this place”, I wasn’t referring to the shape of the place you visited. I was referring to the shape of the Earth. Some believe that the Earth is flat and has Power Places all over similar to Chakras; and some believe that the Earth is spherical (or an pear...

And that antifa dude with the Wu-Tang hat.

I’ve been a Wu fan since almost year one; but that guy got to try to prove his street-cred with a Wu-Tang cap? :jumping:

I can almost guarantee that he hasn’t looked into the the MST, the NOI, and the NOGAE or NGE as much as I have.

Re: Antifa at it again

Classic question. If you could kill Hitler as a baby, should you? Ah - but the correct answer is much better. Raise him with love, and the whole thing never happens. There are other possible alternatives to this^ conundrum. Maybe replace this hypothetical scenario with Mao or Stalin? Of course time...

Re: Locational Energy

There are Power-places all over; whether you believe that this place is a egg-shaped ‘dome-covered’ flat-disc or a convex-sphere floating through ‘infinite outer space’. You may be delusional, or may have ‘tapped into’ one of these Power-places. Since your post seems intelligent & sincere, I’m optin...

I forgot to add that the Dharmawheel search that I posted above is not an general internet search, but is going to show results that include the Aggañña Sutra.

The second link I posted above is to a very informative post about Abhidharma cosmology.

Am I the only one who thinks this could be the next hot thing for the yoga crowd? Dzogchen hats. Sleek look and feel. Now available in orange, fuchsia and periwinkle. Cotton and spandex. Ultra-breathable, ultra-light. Only $49.99. Well I can’t stand corporate-“culture” in general. Although if what ...

Re: The Ease of Receiving Empowerments

The following many of you have probably heard or read at some point: Hinayana broken vows are very difficult to mend, it’s like dropping a earthen vase or pot; not so easy to fix, as it will most likely have shattered or at least broken into a few pieces. Mahayana broken vows are like dropping a bra...

Also, maybe it wasn’t quite proper of me to mention the story about the Gelug monastery here (Dzogchen practitioners reading this feel free to chime in here; maybe I should request that post be removed and I can repost it without that part); but if anyone here is not interested in Dzogchen, then you...

Re: Vajrayana purification split from "Second hand mandala offering set"

About my previous post, if your Teacher(s) hasn’t/haven’t told you anything about this, it does not mean that they don’t know it or that they’re not right for not explaining it to you. Every Teacher has their own emphasis on what and how they teach, and so one should follow that. If however you’ve r...

Re: Saka Dawa 2019

Thank you Nicholas. That makes sense. Then it seems that Saka Dawa begins on the 1st Lunar Day of the 4th Lunar month (incidentally the Anniversary of Sangye Lingpa). I don’t want to invent something that doesn’t exist; it just seems logical that the multiplying effect of the Month of Saka Dawa grad...
