Re: Nechung Kuten Recognizes Yeye Omileye

Whole thread begs a question would the reception been different if the recognised had been Tibetan shaman... As for whether or not she engages in this practice, you will have to ask her personally. However, it is standard. I don't have the burden of proof on this one. It would be up to you prove tha...

Re: Nechung Kuten Recognizes Yeye Omileye

No one is upset by you. And you are being entirely too credulous. I didn't mean upset by me...I ment upset about this woman & what she is advertising about herself. .....i don't see it as a new age scam. ..I actually believe this is legit. It took a year to prepare for this. The photos. ... Also th...

Re: Mirror divination

Thank you all for your answers. R -- I hope this runs in your family as well. My mother's side of family are Sami people, hunters, and they've used this ability, to foresee, to track down animals, find good fishing spots, etc. And more recently, to see whether one should eat in a sketchy restaurant....

Re: Meat Eating Mantras

Chatral Rinpoche was hardcore about vegetarianism, and didn't tolerate any meat eating per se. Also, CR criticized a lot lamas who were meatians.

Re: Meat Eating Mantras

As I don't possess any magical powers, nor I am in any way realised, I find it much easier NOT to eat meat.

In addition, saving lives in my limited experience is much powerful practice than using so called meat-mantras.

Re: Most Powerful Dharmapala?

I've been a bit curious, who is the most powerful dharmapala? Also, who would be the most fastest dharmapala with quick results and which dharmapala would be the most wisest? Not only that, but which dharmapala would be the safest especially for a fourteen year old to practice and which would be th...

Re: Very sad news: Letter to Sogyal Rinpoche / Abuse allegations

Yes. And I've been taught that the Vajrayana Vows can be summarized as "Never criticize anything ." Then why you're criticizing that people are not not-criticizing? For vajrayana vows to be effective, they have to be transferred from pure awareness. Whether this has happened or not, we can only gue...

Re: Very sad news

Possible, yes, but the problem with this is: how can you check a guru, if nobody says the truth about him? Isn't it funny that most of the times the people who are accusing the students of not having checked the guru are the same people who forbid them to say the truth? I would say, test him. Give ...

Re: Very sad news

From my limited perspective, OTR response came from a viewpoint "guys, you should have done your groundwork before you accepted him as your vajra master". Vajrayna states, more or less, that the relationship between teacher and student changes drastically. In addition, I guess it all depends also wh...

What's up

In this thread we share something what we did today. Or yesterday. It's up to you.

I went to snowboarding for three hours. It was my first time, and my ass hasn't been this sore for years. I think I slammed at least once per descend.

I've been rehearsing differential equatations for the past two weeks four hours per day. And it's FUN! Seems like I am one of the few who are into torturing themselves like this.

Another thing I enjoy is (obviously) wrestling. Can't wait get into MMA sparring

Re: Was this the Buddha's greatest teaching?

In my personal opinion the greatest teaching was that Buddha manifested to each individual in according to their capacity. We can still see this in action in how people intrepret Siddhartha's teachings.

Re: Won't even be able to find the outer guru anymore

I'm definitely not the best person to explain this, you should try to ask from some of the designated instructors. I guess, Rinpoche is referring to ultimate buddha nature, which is nowhere to be found (it's literally shunyata). Thus, when you bumb upon that (shunyata), emptiness becomes empty of it...

Re: Lama Thubten Gonpo Tsering?

I actually contacted Dr. Thurman about this bloke, and he said he has never seen Lama Tsering, and (the cherry on the top) Geshe Wangyal wasn't involved in Tulku-business at all (according to Dr Thurman). I confronted Kim about this on a finnish forum, and it didn't take long before Kim deleted the ...
