Re: HE Yongdzin Rinpoche's 2019 schedule

Shenten Dargye Ling (Rinpoche's main center in the west located in France) has not yet communicated in detail about the summer program.  Rinpoche may be there... Or not...
We shall soon here about it.

Re: Google Rigpa Tibetan Buddhist Calendar online this year?

Shambhala lunar calendar at https://www.shambhala.com/tibetan-lunar-calendar/ Unfortunately I can't get the thing to do what it's supposed to, which is simply to add Shambhala's calendar to my own at one go. I don't know if that's a bug, a mistake on my part, or what. At the bottom right of the cal...

Re: Feeling sleepy

Don't know for Long Life practices specifically, but drowsiness / sleepiness / lack of clarity is an important obstacles to work with on the path. Depending on individual propensities it may pop up right from the start of one's practice. Or only after some progress has been made and gross distractio...

Re: Dzogchen Community & Yungdrung

I don’t particularly imagine that it would or wouldn’t - inherently. I am wondering more about how the teachers themselves feel about it and whether they have definitively commented, how common it actually is and so on. Often discussions take the form of students interpreting comments made in a dif...

Why would you imagine that this could somehow "compromise the integrity of one's transmission" ???

What ??? :(

Indeed, as far as the Tibetan Buddhism section goes, this is an earthquake...

I am quite disheartened by this news.

Thank you so much Malcolm for all you have done.

Re: Relationship between Dzogchen tantras and Nyingthiks

It takes approximately 5 days for the lung of the 17 tantras. Any senior Nyingma Lama can grant this lung. Probably the best people to receive it from at present are Dzongsar Khyentse, Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche or Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche (who is actually a Kagyu master). This is not to exclude the ma...

Re: Relationship between Dzogchen tantras and Nyingthiks

The Lung for the 17 tantras (as well as the Vima and Khandro Nyinthigs) still exists and is still transmitted. Hi Malcolm, Any specific holder of that lineage that comes to mind ? Do you know how long it would approximately take for such a Lung to be transmitted ? A few days ? A week ? More ? May b...

AFAIK the 17 Tantras are not in the Nyingtik Yabzhi but in the Nyingma Gyübum.

Re: Are there any overlapping sutras in the Kangyur and Pali Canon

Unfortunately only a few. That's a pity...
I remember reading Malcolm recently saying that a royal decree (by Relpachen I think...) actually limited the amount of Hinayana sutras transalted.
