Re: Mongolian metal!? ...yes

Rob Scallon is pretty awesome, ...he can also shred on a Sitar! I can shred on nothing, but if my aspirations to Shimabukuro-hood ever come to fruition (...unlikely) I will tackle some of this too. FAnd speaking of "The Shimabukuro," for those who haven't seen this, it is definitely NOT metal, but t...

Re: Mongolian metal!? ...yes

I've heard the iron horse Metallica cover before. I love it. The sound, the vocals, beautiful! Enter Sandman is one of the first metal songs I heard when I was very young, and one of the first I learned to play on ukulele. Speaking of ukulele and metal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3n_DduHFLY an...

Re: Mongolian metal!? ...yes

This is how metal songs ought to be covered: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LOarjz5EeY That was cool. As for pirate and troll rock/metal/whatever ...weird. I don't really know what to say. If I remember correctly there are Harry Potter metal bands. How about covering Metallica lyrics to U2 music?...

This is a little random, but since both metal genres and politics have come up, what about a little Nu Metal...

(I just love this and don't often have a reason to share it ...arguably I might not have a reason now!)

Re: Mongolian metal!? ...yes

If I am to listen to metal, which sometimes happens, then I certainly don't seek out some sort of politically correct family-friendly metal that is sure to offend nobody. Inane logic. I am a big fan of Doom and Stoner Metal but I will refuse to listen to some of the bands in the genre (even they ar...

Re: Mongolian metal!? ...yes

But I certainly don't listen to music with the almost religious zeal I had when I was a teen and in my early 20's, that's for sure. Me neither. Music actually affected us differently back then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpPSF7-Ctlc Having taken up ukulele recently I have been listening to a l...

If I am to listen to metal, which sometimes happens, then I certainly don't seek out some sort of politically correct family-friendly metal that is sure to offend nobody. I want the music to sound like an onslaught of terror, or give rise to visuals of dark winter days of the freezing cold north wi...

Who? The HU! I’m into it https://youtu.be/v4xZUr0BEfE Metal thank goodness it is not :-) I'm certainly not going to go to the mat for it, but I'm curious of your criteria. The drums sounded like it to me, andI think it's heavier than a lot that would unquestionably fall under the blanket of metal (...

Re: Chilling adventures of Sabrina. Did you watch?

Interesting. We’re just getting into the black oil now; I like it, but (so far) it’s not as interesting as other things.

After we finish season 4, then re-watch the movie, maybe we’ll rewatch season 11 to give it a fair shake.

...Dr. They is legitimately awesome.

Re: "Three Doors" meditation Tenzin Wangyal Source

Thank you for the answer! I googled and I think you are referring to the True Source of Healing? It sounds really cool, I could use a lot of healing! Can I find ChNN's vipashyana that you talk about in a book somewhere? "True Source of healing," yes. It is genuinely amazing. I don't own a copy, but...

Re: "Three Doors" meditation Tenzin Wangyal Source

Awakening the Luminous mind is amazing, as is his book on ‘souls retrieval’ (I’m blanking on the name). ChNN taught a type of vipashyana that is similar to the inner refuge, going one at a time through the three doors (and the world). In a few places he discusses trekchod and says that it does not n...

Re: Chilling adventures of Sabrina. Did you watch?

Though it's not exactly the sort of thing I'd watch, I am encouraged that there is a market in US television for a series where the main characters are promiscuous devil-worshippers. I take this as a sign of hope for society. I'm also surprised that somewhere like Texas hasn't yet passed a law bann...

Re: Chilling adventures of Sabrina. Did you watch?

season 10 and 11 of x-files. IMO season 11 was better than any of the first 10 seasons. ...I don’t think you’re allowed to say that. Just kidding (...kind of ...lol) but let me ask you, did you watch x-files when it was coming out and, if so, has your opinion changed? I watched the first 4 seasons ...
