Re: Anyone want but can't afford statues?

I wish I had found this earlier. I would have treasured the Vajrasattva statue. Alas, they went to someone in more need than I.

I wish you well in your practice and journey to enlightenment.

Good book for beginner in Drikung lineage

Greetings all,

I am sorta new to the Drikung lineage and am wondering what a good book to start reading would be. I am torn between Jewel Ornament of Liberation, Gongchig and Essence of the Mahayana Teachings.

I would like like the recommendations of everyone here and value all advice.

Re: Resources on Sadhana Practice

Dear all, Are there general resources/manuals on how to practice a sadhana? This is generally determinate on the school and lineage that you follow. While most sadhanas will be similar in scope, wording and other intricacies may vary based on school, lineage and lama pith instructions. If you have ...

Re: Kagyu Question

I currently have Essence of the Mahayana Teachings along with Words of my Perfect Teacher , of course I don't know if Words of my Perfect Teacher is Kagyu specific or not. I will be adding Rays of Sunlight: A Commentary on the Heart of the Mahayana Teachings and The Jewel Ornament of Liberation: The...

Kagyu Question

Does the Kagyu school have an equivalent to LamRim? Is there a centralized text that every Kagyu student/practitioner should read? More specifically, does the Drikung lineage have a centralized text? I have been feeling lost in studies lately and was hoping to get back on track with a centralized te...

Re: Teacher & Root Guru

Is it ok to take initial refuge from a lama that is not a part of the lineage that you are interested in? Example: I am interested in the Drikung lineage but have no opportunity to take refuge with Garche Rinpoche in person. I am traveling in the near future to the Philippines and may have the oppo...

Difference between Ganges and Five Fold Mahamudra

I am interested in starting ngondro for Mahamudra, but I have seen mention of Ganges and Five Fold Mahamudra and was wondering if someone would be willing to share their knowledge on the differences between these two.

Thank you

Re: Online Learning

Yes, But not quite. There is something new being done at Gar Drolm https://gardrolma.org/gar-drolma-curriculum-offerings/ . It has Garchen Rinpoche's blessings. Thank you Miroku. This is exactly what I was looking for. I like there are only 2 courses, makes it much simpler. I found the FPMT and Ter...

1000 Arm Chenrezig Empowerment

I am interested in starting Nyung Ney and was wondering if anyone had video links to Garchen Rinpoche giving 1000 Arm Chenrezig empowerment.

Also, if anyone has link to Garchen Rinpoche giving practice instructions or the like for Nyung Ney, that would be great.

Thank you.

Re: A question on raising reptiles and the first precept of no killing.

Why does it have to be a handful of reptiles? I feel drawn to reptiles. I feel that they are deeply misunderstood and in some cases, feared. I do not plan to only have snakes and reptiles. I also plan to have fish, a cat or two, probably a dog and possibly even a bird. I love animals of all types a...
