I know the obvious answer here is going to be "Tara", but I was wondering what particular DC practices might be good for obsessive thinking and worry.

Re: Four Dharma Seals

Taken from the Aro Authenticity Debate https://dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=27652&p=431249&hilit=four+seals#p431249 Karma Dorje said it already and so did I: If it conforms to the Four Dharma Seals then it is Dharma. Whether well-spoken or not. Fun or not. Brocaded or not. What are the Four...

Re: The Aro Authenticity Debate.

Who ever said I supported it's validity. I am just tired of seeing people beating them up over and over again for no better reason other than to exercise their own prejudices and to confirm their own egos. Well, I hope you apply this attitude to other groups and traditions too and don't restrict it...

Ok, so how does it work then if a master say puts his handprint in solid stone or does something else that appears to be impossible by what we know of the laws of physics?

Re: What it means to be a ngakpa

Right on bro!! That takes real courage  I have read through some of the Aro stuff and although not my cup of tea I never saw anything that directly contradicted Buddhadharma...seemed like there were people in there that were/are serious and sincere practitioners so I never much bothered with an...

Re: How do I go deeper into Zen practice?

Hello. I've been practicing Zazen for about 3-4 years now. I try to sit for 30 minutes twice a day (but a lot of times it's more like once). I go to a local (Soto) Zen center on and off, but I've mostly just been practicing on my own from what I read in books. I would like to go deeper into Buddhis...

Re: The Real "Dark Age"

I have been reading all of these various posts and how they are linking back to DKR and ultimately to Sogyal Rinpoche and the reason I haven't posted anything on them is simply because I have never met either one of them or their accusers...so I just figure its not my place, and that being the case ...

Yes, our friend Fa Dao is a red state freeloader. :-) :rolling: not actually from here...from one of the "bluer" states....but I guess we all have our "demons" to deal with eh? ;-) You live there, that's enough. :-) Anyway, New Mexico is awesome. If I were to live anywhere other than here in MA, it...

Re: The Real "Dark Age"

 Some gurus should be disparaged, even by their own students. I disagree. I think they should be held to account. I believe that people should be informed about their actions. But just belittling teachers, I don't think that benefits anybody. I imagine if one checks the motivation behin...

Fact, overall, people in red states use more federal dollars than they pay out in federal taxes. But ideologically opposed to entitlements, oddly. If a way isn't found that would give each state equal say in how the country is governed it simply wont work...states will end up wanting to secede from the union. Re: Siddhis/Methods for Fixing Scoliosis

I could have recommended pilot lessons, or purchasing an airplane ticket, but that would have been too boring and obvious. I actually had hang gliding lessons over a weekend a while back...it was cool but not the same as how real it feels in dreams...and would be even better if it could be ...
