Re: End of suffering

Little brother, sounds like you might be spending way too much time in your own head and amplifying all the shit that is going on in there... and in turn you are reaching out to these negative things to try and shut out some of it...totally understandable. Perhaps you could try to replace some of th...

On the other hand MDMA also known as ecstasy is now in phase 3 clinical trials as a "breakthrough cure" for PTSD and possibly other mental health related disorders:

Re: Who is America ?

Naww Q...Malcolm and Greg are absolutely right! As practitioners of Buddhadharma, whenever and wherever we find these alt-right/fascist/neo-nazi bastards we should immediately walk up and punch them in the face! They must be stopped at all costs!! I mean, its not like they are sentient beings who we...

On the flip side, his interviews with Bernie and Ted Keoppel demonstrate how decent and sane they are. To be fair, some of those right winger guys seem to realize it's a joke and go along, but that itself says tons about their sensibilities. Walter Kirn kind of has a point. https://harpers.org/arch...

Re: TRUCK FUMP

We, just like every other country, have immigration laws. So technically, if a person comes here illegally , flagrantly disrespecting our laws, how are they not a criminal ? I have friends from Canada, Mexico, and Guatemala who got their citizenship legally. They complain about others who dont go th...

Re: Advice on where to go, what lineage to study

I would strongly suggest going to as many centers as possible even if they are in another city. Ask questions, be diligent in finding what works for you as this can be a more than one lifetime commitment. Meet as many Teachers as you can until you find the right one for you...choose wisely...

Re: Looking for good books for learning classical chinese

I did my undergrad work in Chinese language/history/literature and loved translating Tang dynasty poetry. That was many many years ago but the one book I always recommended was this: https://www.amazon.com/Gateway-Chinese-Classics-English/dp/0835125378 It requires you to memorize around 300 characte...

Re: Keith Dowman's argument for his "interpretive free" translation style

 It’s not queer theory that I’m singling out, I am questioning what it has to do with buddhadharma. Are we going to have conservative translators, liberal translators, communist, capitalist all translating texts differently? Everyone has opinions or biases but why would I need to write ...

Re: Great Transference question

guys, i just asked for the difference between great transference and rainbowlight body because i have no clue and, if a text requieres transmision, it requires transmision, that's all. other thing is if the lama who gaves transmision says something different about this. Bro..I did answer your quest...

Re: Great Transference question

Is there an explanation of what is great transference? Afaik is not the same as rainbow-light-body, so it is pointed in a ChNN book because says that an individual that manifests great transferes does not manifest death and an individual that manifests rainbow-light-body does. Anyone knows? My simp...

Here is some perspective on traveling at the speed of light...assuming that we even get the technology to do that... A light year is how far light travels in a year...ok, so far so good..however keep in mind that light travels at 186,000 miles per second ... now do the math on how many seconds there...

ok..so, for example..what would a refutation of "god created the universe" as opposed to a counterargument look like? Not trying to bust your balls just want to understand this whole thing better... Re: Discussion/debate/argument

7_arguments.jpg ok, so why is refutation higher than counter argument....not sure I agree with the order...why isnt counter argument at the top? Because this is about proving that a person's point is mistaken, it is not about proving that your point is correct... After proving a point as mistaken, ...
