Re: Buddhahood in This Life
Malcolm - this may be an overly broad question, but I'm curious - what would you consider as the essential reading list for a practitioner? What is the minimum set of texts that someone should have received and be familiar with, irrespective of which particular lineage of teachings they practice? I...

Re: Conference on Vajrayana in Bhutan
Another very controversial guy from the conference is David Verdesi. Take a look at this: http://www.thedaobums.com/topic/4731-david-verdesis-credentials-and-research/page-1 On the conference presentation, it says: "With extensive knowledge and accomplishment in yogic, Taoist, and tantric Buddh...

Re: Kyabje Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche in Finland 2013
Hi to all Probably this is a stupid question, but anyway.. If someone will participate at this retreat, it will be capable to practice after this empowerments? Because, I know that, if you want to practice, you "need" all this 3: a) the empowerment wang) b) a reading of the text by an auth...

Re: Anxiety meds
I think you should proceed with caution and take the advice of folks on this thread with a grain of salt, including mine. If you need anxiety meds, use them. Meditation can help as well. But since your physician has prescribed the meds for a reason, I believe you should follow his guidance, not the...

I was just put on two different medications for manic depression & paranoia within the last week. It's definitely helped to quite my "mental noise" and problems that I've had with sleeping. I'm also trying to start doing some meditation as well and hope that between the two of them, i...

However Bon does not have the cycle of Dungts'o Repa regarding the Seven Levels of Visions that are quite extraordinary. Norbu offers this transmission, and I have found the results from practice to be most profound. It is considered in Nyingma to be the pinnacle of esoteric methods. I recommend ev...

Re: Father Francis Tiso Dzogchen & Early Christianity Connection
There is a huge literature about his tradition. In fact you can spend your whole life studding hesychast texts/the real mystical path of ortodox Christianity. A typical story, the story of Hesychius the Horebite. "He passed his life in complete negligence, without paying the least attention to ...

I'm sorry to be late to this particular conversation, so if my question has already been answered, I beg your patience. Let's accept the claim that there have been instances of rainbow body among Eastern Christians for the sake of argument. I don't know if there have been or haven't. Some in this t...
