Re: Poll (ANONYMOUS): Are you Male / Female / Other?

I have heard, that a higher female interest than male, is one of the sings of the Degenerate Age of Dharma. Does anyone have more information about this? I do not think the higher interest of practicing females is any other than wonderful. “It is time we truly recognize that the era of the hunter i...

Re: Vajrayana in the spectrum

i'm on the spectrum and know about things you mention, but i think it is tangential to the topic and maybe i wasn't clear enough in my quoted post. now, i'm saying the spectrum is not just what people want to make of it, not everyone is on the spectrum , i quoted the definition i'm using in this th...

Re: Vajrayana in the spectrum

That is the beauty of spectrums: EVERYBODY is included on a spectrum. EVERYBODY is in the spectrum. From 0-100%. That is what spectrums are all about. Thank you for pointing this out. “Spectrum” was originally used as a term to refer to variations specifically within the range of traits associated ...

Re: Vajrayana in the spectrum

I have close contact with two with autism spectrum, both very intelligent. The first is not able to show some empathy, sees the world as stupid. The other is very much caring, sees a bleeding wounded pigeon along the way in winter, takes her pullover off to put the bleeding one in it and take it wi...

Re: Negative energy

If the label Bodhisattva is used, then it is to ease the suffering of all beings. This cannot be separate of practice: emptiness is wisdom-compassion is the method. We may not be blind for the suffering! Protect those' who need protection for negativity, those who cannot have controle over their own...

Re: Was Nagarjuna's Madhyamaka an implicative negation?

I would rather say that Nagarjunas Madhyamaka is an "instructive" dharma teaching while most people in the West read it as a "descriptive" philosophy because that is the frame of reference that they are used to. And so debates about different views or approaches in buddhist hist...

Re: Are samsara and nirvana two sides of the same hand

Hi, I am Suda, reading something from Khenchen Konchok Gyatshen Rinpoche , the poetry says : Samsara and nirvana are actually Of the same mode of abiding; and as such There is not the smallest distinction between them in the ‘Samsara-nirvana equal-ness’. Samsara is mind with its conceptions; Nirvan...

Re: How does one say no thank you to a former religion?

I use to be part of a religion that I no longer want to be a part of. I found Buddhism to be the best for me. My boss is a member of former religion, and I'm afraid to tell him I am now Buddhist. I want to be respectful but am afraid telling him my new religious choice will affect my job. What do I...

Re: Is the nature of the mind cognizant of itself? I'm trying to understand how cognizance has always been present as an inherent part of emptiness. If I'm not wrong, the mind essence Is empty and cognizant, these two things are inseparable. Maybe something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Re: Is it bad to study western philosophy?

Buddhism is founded on experience first - before words can form - and constantly refers back to that. Arguments which deny the existence of god are an intellectual exercise. Perhaps what is meant with experience, is an absence of an experiencer experiencing some thing. As long as there is the belie...

Re: Doctrine Of Perpetual Flux Question

So, are you saying that everyone who practices Buddhism is already familiar with these Six abhijñas/psychic powers? I hardly think that is the case. And if they aren’t already familiar, then if this statement is true, how can Buddha-Dharma (and practice in general) “exist” for people unfamiliar wit...

I don’t understand your question Oh yes. I see. Ordinary beings, sentient beings is experience in confusion. But Buddha perceives only Buddha. Then it must have gone automatically that he helped perfect nature, only temporary locked in suffering dreams. There should be no any need for any liberatin...
