Re: Weather
The following prayer to Guru Rinpoche from the Le'u Dun-ma is effective for all sorts of problems and disasters due to the four elements, including weather problems. Best if you can receive oral transmission ( lung ) for it. Typically, one needs to say it over and over again to get a result -- as i...

Re: Mantra for Protection
The following Sutric dharani is excellent for protecting against all kinds of harm, including enemies. It can be said without oral transmission (lung). It is very effective. You can read the whole text or just say the dharani itself as many times as possible. Personally, I say this every day. Good ...

Re: Mantra for Protection
No I don't. I may have people that dislike me, but they are not my enemies, nor would I consider them enemies. There is no value in considering them enemies. what about nazis? Nazis are ignorant and misguided fools, although in many cases deserving of a beating, I still would not call them enemies....

Re: Weather
Buddhas are omniscient, not omnipotent. you just said your teachers who i assume are buddhas have the ability to stop hurricanes and tsunamis. how is that not omnipotence? lol You need two hands to clap. Buddhas have the ability to help, but beings themselves must want to be helped or have created ...

Re: Weather
Do buddhas have the ability to control the weather? I'm not sure but I don't think. A Buddha isn't an omnipotent God who can do everything. To have a better weather isn't really important ; nevertheless in case of natural disasters it is said that our wishes can have an impact, therefore more likel...

Re: Weather
So if you pray to the buddhas for good weather but nothing happens its because u have bad karma? what is the point of being buddha if u can barely help out others due to their karma? Buddhasutra : ' I don’t wash away the negativity of living beings with water. I don’t remove their suffering with my...

Re: Weather
Even medical science is now investing a great deal of effort and money into personalised treatments. How much more so when it comes to the Dharma that is to do with much more complex issues. Personality, background, karmic dispositions, etc etc. One size doesn't fit all. If you read the Pali suttas...

Re: Weather
Because a Buddha has realization of the ultimate nature of reality??? Like, what is the point of being a friend or caring for others if we can't literally save them from their own mistakes? Because we care and are there for them at all times, unconditionally, maybe. If one thinks that the power of ...

not much difference. both free from samsara So then you don't see why having a Buddha or an arahat in the world today would be useful? Who is to say there isn't. Actually this is a pointless discussion ..........just sayin'. No one is forcing u to join this discussion. "just sayin"
