Re: Namcho Padmasambhava

Just curious, what draws you to Namcho Padmasambhava? Were you going to do the practice everyday? Do you know about the benefits of the practice? Thank you! I'm trying to identify a particular teaching. FWIW, I asked my lama who lived at Palyul Namdroling for many years about this. He reminded me t...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

I have heard recordings from the '70s where SOV was accompanied by harmonium and it was sung very rapidly compared even with the quick form of singing today. Is there a way to get these recordings? Presuming they were ever digitized. perhaps you can ask adriano clemente, afaik he played the harmoni...

Re: will the 5 lights always be there?

infinite just means they are uncountable.there is a set number of beings, and Dzogchen I have heard says all beings will attain full buddhahood,so what happens after that?do we go into a state like a coma?like the pali nibbana? If that were true, all beings would not attain full buddhahood but a ful...

Re: will the 5 lights always be there?

I know, what I mean is that when ALL beings have attained irreversible full enlightenment what happens then?Dzogchen says that this will happen if Im correct. You do realise that sentient beings are infinite in number? infinite just means they are uncountable.there is a set number of beings, and Dzog...

Re: Namcho Padmasambhava

There are lots of different Wrathful Guru practices, and some other peaceful guru practices including ones on Vimalamitra, Ratna Lingpa and Padampa Sangye... it's a vast cycle. I am trying to understand the outline as well, with my extremely limited knowledge of Tibetan. I'm not sure if there is su...

Re: Namcho Padmasambhava

I looked through pretty much the entire outline that mutsuk linked, and so far as I can see there are two peaceful Guru Rinpoche sadhanas: one of them is the one I mentioned before, which is the in the form of Pema Jungne/Padmasambhava. The other seems to be in the form of Pema Gyalpo (one of the 8...

Re: Bad deeds with good intention

Excuses are irrelevant and delusion or wrong view doesn't matter. Hitler didn't kill anyone to try and help them, neither did anyone from witch trials. Idiocy. Delusion. Wrong View. are all completely irrelevant. Wrong view itself is the worst evil deed, so this is not correct. Since when does anyo...

Re: Bad deeds with good intention

The idea that I would be ok with that, just because I said trying to save someone from hell is well intentioned, would also be idiocy. However, it's quite obvious that saving someone from hell is a good intention. Once we start making excuses, where do we stop? After 60,000 people are killed? That ...

Re: Namcho Padmasambhava

I have a Tibetan-English-Chinese translation of a very short Namcho Pamdmasambhava Sadhana, Guru Rinpoche as the Embodiment of the 8 Manifestations. I am not sure if this is the one you are referring to. Let me know if you are interested to know more. I believe there may also be a sadhana of Guru R...

Namcho Padmasambhava

Does anyone have information regarding the Namcho Peaceful Padmasambhava sadhana, or know if the text is available somewhere? It is not on vimala treasures, and I haven't found any references to this sadhana either.

Re: Regression from Buddhahood and pureland in

Dzogchen says I believe ,that unless your each the 16th stage there can be reversion into samsara after a mahakalpa begins and you fail to recognize the 5 lights as the 5 lights or the basis as the basis.does this refer to only bodhisattvas or buddhas?and what of going to a pureland?is going to a p...

Re: Any web developers/programmers here? I want to try out an analogy about consciousness

I was listening to Venerable Guan Cheng’s teachings on the Eight Consciousnesses, where he talks about the Yogacara school of Buddhism and the different consciousnesses. He used an analogy of a workplace to explain how the different consciousnesses interact, but as a programmer and web developer, I...

Re: Awakened Heart Lineage Question

Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche and Tsoknyi Rinpoche also visit the UK now and then. I think it's usually once a year, but it seems this year they may not. I am not sure though, maybe it just hasn't been decided yet.

Re: Twelve Deeds

To be clear, you're saying that the text(s) on lotsawahouse are not what you want? Neither the one by Nagarjuna here (https://www.lotsawahouse.org/indian-masters/nagarjuna/praise-twelve-deeds) or the Jigme Lingpa one here (https://www.lotsawahouse.org/tibetan-masters/jigme-lingpa/praise-twelve-acts...
