Re: TRUCK FUMP

Snopes agrees this is mostly true. OK, it isn't life or death, but shows the values at work:

Re: Dzogchen Community Naga Rite

This seems to be the right answer at this time given the circumstances: Since it complicates the practice I asked Rinpoche if it can be done without it just with some other sombolic offering like milk etc. and throwing them in the water. He replied: "You can do Naga Puja more simple way when there ...

Numbers of refugees don't really mean anything, you have to look at how these numbers come up as proportions of the total population.
I still can't get my head around how you are coping where you are. Italy makes a fuss about a tiny number of refugees and you have a vast number to accommodate.

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

I obviously like ChNN's perspective that we have DI and Guruyoga and then a raft of 'Secondary Practices' to help us along the way. You can prepare to experience what it is like to be part of a Vajrayana ritual but how can you prepare for the experience of DI, especially if you are not someone with ...

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

Shouldn't they be called postliminaries then? http://dhammawheel.com/download/file.php?id=2654&sid=234a354480f0e25eb2cb75b2f3be4e1a No no no - 'Preluminaries' ;) You know, I actually considered that but I decided that 'postliminaries' would be more annoying. Yes, I guessed it was a wind-up. :)

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

The name he/she has chosen is interesting. The Omega Point is a concept developed by the Christian mystic and priest Teilhard de Chardin for the final evolutionary climax of the cosmos. See, I knew you'd be useful for something when you came back. ;) Assuming there is a 'final' anything is a bit do...

Re: Dharmapalas and Consorts

Some Dharmapalas, like Za Rahula, have consorts. Is this common, and does it indicate a level of enlightenment as opposed to being wordly? Yes, pretty common and no I don't think it indicate a level of enlightenment because for example Lha Chenpo is almost always depicted with his consort. https://...

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

I think the confusion is that some think they are called preliminaries because they are preliminary to DI. But many if not most teachers give DI and the 'preliminaries' are practiced after that. They are preliminaries to a main practice such as the two stages or certain more advanced Dzogchen pract...

He can’t use the presidency to make a vast amount of money....
I bet he can, even if investments in armaments, deals for golf resorts etc. are being done by his relatives. I would suspect that any policy he introduces is used as an investment opportunity.

Well he gives this advice. The Precious Vase. The Tun book. As far as I know he teaches in accordance with Garab Dorje - that DI comes first, THEN other practices for the removal of doubt etc. ''We do these kinds of practices to be 100% sure of our real nature. Probably best not to have a public discussion on anything related to the Guardians. I think people are savvy enough not to reveal any practice details and just answer a simple question. If it seems not, we invented Tantra Talk for questions best answered in private, so Mods can move it there. On is...

Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

How in the world can anyone receive a DI that early? By turning up. The effect that DI transmission may have will vary, of course, but receiving it has no prerequisites that I know of other than the master being willing to give it and the disciple being willing to receive it at the same time. This....

Re: TRUCK FUMP

As far as I know, this practice did not begin with Trump, his administration has greatly accelerated it with "Zero tolerance", but unfortunately it is not new. The administration -wanted- it to be a deterrent, they as much as admitted it, repugnant as that is... so far it is not working apparently....

Re: TRUCK FUMP

Because Trump is a scociopathic moron, he will be enjoying the publicity about the imprisoned chidren, and probably sees it as a sign his policies are working. His PR machine has clearly decided to use the wife as the caring face of the administration - poor woman, it is like watching a scared priso...

Another version i know which is used in Bön Dzogchen is that the maximum number of 9 persons for DI is used.
I guess that's the version of Dzogchen where you impose circumstances and limitations. lol :)
