Re: DNA TESTS

But seriously, folks, as interesting as the results of DNA testing might be, I would under no circumstances willingly submit such personal information to a faceless corporation which can be counted on to use it in deleterious ways in the future. People thought Facebook was harmless, too. DNA = Do N...

Re: DNA TESTS

... I just wondered if others have had the test done and what it means to them. I had no DNA test, but my brother did some ancestor's research. This is possible in Sweden, because they wrote down births, marriages and deaths since about 1500. So, this was only the research from my father's side, bu...

Re: DNA TESTS

gedmatch.com

GED MATCH accepts uploaded data files from several DNA companies and gives you a breakdown including things like Neanderthal .

It is free and only needs an email address and zipped or text file etc.

Re: The origin of "life" on earth

I tend to think of it in terms of energy rather than evolving forms. I see no science so far identifying an origin for energy nor its disappearance, only evidence of changing results of energy flow. So, like consciousness, I'm not much bothered about where it all began, as I believe it has always ex...

Re: DNA TESTS

I took the Ancestry.com one, it doesn't seem as in depth as these other tests. The only surprise I got was that I'm only about 15% Iberian, since my family on my dad's side are 100% from Cuba. My father always said we were Spanish, Basque and French?! But my test showed about as much Mediterranean ...

Re: DNA TESTS

Recently read an article describing the hand wringing among alt right boobs who discover heritage they've avowed to hate. You can imagine, it really hurts when they find out they're Jewish or black. Idiots. Yes, I've forgotten which UK white racist group's leader took a DNA test and discovered a si...

Re: DNA TESTS

Yes, I've forgotten which UK white racist group's leader took a DNA test and discovered a significant black ancestry. NSFW: http://www.comedycentral.co.uk/chappelles-show/videos/frontline-clayton-bigsby-pt-1-uncensored lol :) Yes, it was a bit like that. One of them was Garry Bushell who found he w...

It shows how we're all inter-connected genetically and that there is no pure race. Re: DNA TESTS

Actually, it is higher, 1.5. I guess the max is 5%. Was it a separate test, or in there with the data on geographical origins? Some companies seem to go into far more detail than others. I did the Geno thing like Cone. Interesting, thanks. I wonder how many forms of DNA testing there are.

1.3 percent. People call me "blond," but I am really a redhead. Which test shows that Neanderthal element up? Actually, it is higher, 1.5. I guess the max is 5%. Was it a separate test, or in there with the data on geographical origins? Some companies seem to go into far more detail than others.

Re: DNA TESTS

I'm awaiting results from LivingDNA.com, myself. Given my last name, and fairly extensive research on my mother's side (maiden name Lewin), it's a sure bet most of me is British/English. Definitely some German in there, whether Angle, Saxon or whatnot. LivingDNA breaks down the British Isles into m...

Re: DNA TESTS

So, I had my DNA ancestry test done as a birthday present recently. Armed with the results and my family tree I can now confirm that I am mostly Irish (from around Tipperary, rural poor) almost a third Austrian (Vienna, bastard royalty), about a fifth English (Yorkshire), and the rest mostly Scandi...

Re: LARGE BRONZE OFFERING THINGY

The saddest part is that 52 idiots gave their hard earned cash... My teacher always gave money to the people on the streets....you know, the ones holding up cardboard signs, asking for donations....i told him they'll just spend it on alcohol...he said something to the effect : It's their happiness....

I believe that it is possible for deities to be converted to Buddhism, but it takes a realised being to do the job.
Isn't it just a matter of Buddhas manifesting in the form most suitable for the person, time and place?
There is no conversion necessary.

Re: US and Allies Launch Strikes on Syria

Another example: You state that the BBC is a reputable source. The BBC is funded by the UK state. It's executive board reads like a pedigree of English political and economic inbred nepotism. It isn't perfect but it is actually funded by taxpayers who pay a licence fee in order that the organisatio...
