Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

In re: yantra yoga, Has anyone else consistently hurt their lower back doing it? I have more or less come to the conclusion that, for my particular body, I just can’t really do it. I have always had very little flexibility in the forward bend, and an odd left hip thing, but in the past I have been ...

Re: Yantra Yoga

I bought the level 1 dvd ages ago, did it a little, quit for a while. I'm back at it but wondering how one uses the Yantras, the dvd is somewhat opaque about that. There is the five yantras - this is what I learned last time, but then there is lungsang and the other sets...does one just pick a sect...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Yeah, it does seem a shame. Although I suppose there's some wisdom in it, many teachers seem very restrictive with recordings, even to those who actually attended in person. There are huge archives of one my other teacher's teachings. They're all recorded and almost none have ever seen the light of ...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Finally got replay access, how do I navigate this? All I see is recent stuff. Can someone send a pm? That's all there is unfortunately. The replays don't stay up for long. Seriously? Had no idea. What happens to the hours and hours of priceless teaching by Rinpoche, someone just selects what ends u...

Re: Hello I'm looking for the best resource to find modern Monastic/Residential centers in the US

Group living is difficult. I’m not 100% sure it is the correct model for Dharma in the West. But to date nobody has asked my opinion on the subject. This is an interesting point. Your experience has been similar to mine - I've managed to get along with people, but I've yet to come across somewhere ...

Re: Taking Apart Ngondro

Some food for thought .. Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche was talking about the tendency for students to not spend enough time on the dissolution stage of a practice as opposed to the creation stage. On a similar vein of spending time, I guess Thinley Norbu Rinpoche had told some students in Bhutan to sp...

Re: Pausing sadhanas

Great thanks, good to know I'm not totally off base.

English recitation isn't something I've tried before. I like the idea of mixing that in occasionally though. Will give it a shot.

Pausing sadhanas

I'm wondering how many people when practicing alone will pause their recitation to really engender the meaning of a particular section in their mind. Is this common/recommended? I was thinking about the fact that if we have memorised a sadhana we can pretty much do it in our mind only. I don't mean ...

Hi guys,

I am currently a blue gakyil of Wangdenling. Unfortunately we do not plan to have a webcast, we do not have techincal capabilities to ensure that the webcast runs in a good quality and uninterrupted. If anything changes I will inform you ahead of time.
Thanks for letting us know.

I don't know if it'll be possible to get a question to him directly online, but probably a uniquely qualified person to answer this question would be Sridhar Rana Rinpoche: https://www.byomakusuma.org/

Re: Seriously approaching Semde on ones own

I would recommend working with semdzins in regular sessions throughout the day. Along with regular sessions in the morning and evening. Not that it is an bad advice but the semdzins belong to the Mengakde. /magnus Typically yes. They can indeed be very powerful methods for working with semde an lon...

I would suggest seeing if there's a SMS 1+ instructor who's willing to give some advice/answer questions that may come up.

Just saw that Tulku Dakpa will be offering the lung for the Dreltig Chenmo again (plus lung for Nyida Khajor Gyud), this time in Slovakia from 20.-22.09.19, apparently by invitation of the Dzogchen Community: https://www.dzogchen.sk/podujatie/greatcommentary/?instance_id=1964001 Not sure if they ar...

Re: Troma nagmo and rainbow body

Perhaps, I should have posted the link which is below. I don't think Alan Wallace is saying practicing shamatha and letting the view arise but he is saying that trechok IS shamatha combined with the view. Of course, it is not ordinary shamatha that is focusing on an object or conceptual thought. Ma...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Does anyone have/know of a recording of the melody for the Avalokiteshvara Korwa Tongtrug practice? i could find only the melody that sms instructors use. in barcelona there was a AKT retreat, but i could't attend nor find it, maybe there is a melody from Rinpoche. does it serves you as well? Ah ye...

Re: Opening oneself to others

I think, you know the answer, as expressed in your last paragraph. Maybe this can be handled by going back to the basics, examining "who" is being defensive, "who" is shutting things off. I would say, spend some time on that. Really spend a week focused on that and see what happens. In my own exper...
