When in a group obviously one goes along with the group pace. I think in this way one can really integrate the practice into one'...

Re: Contemplation

Contemplation or perhaps it could be called reflection is often overlooked. I did and still do overlook it but I am on the advice on one of my teachers trying to bring it into my daily practice more and more. I think it can be used very informally and naturally. Re: Sponsoring Puja/Prayers for a Friend

Although it may seem alien to western culture there is great merit and benefit in sponsoring prayers and pujas. Group practice also increases the benefit. We can of course always recite prayers for someone but a sponsored puja has multiple benefits.

Re: Visualisations and Dzogchen

:good: Visualisations or rather the capacity to create images in your mind are natural. A big part of our conceptual mind deals with images. If you think about someone you know there will immediately be an image in your mind. Visualisations are 3D, you are not supposed visualise a flat deity. Visual...

Re: three year retreat experiences?

After the first month, in exasperation, I tossed my cushion on the plywood floor and tried to sleep on the ground—but that was even worse. So I climbed back into the box—slowly, by about the 3rd or 4th month—I gr...
