Re: Right Buddhist teaching, wrong method of Dharma practice
The teachings of Buddha is truth, never wrong. However it was taught 2500 years ago, an age/a society is totally different from our current generation. So how we can apply teachings into our lives? What is the way/method to practice Buddhist Dharma? Chanting? (...) Yes that's true, and our societie...

Re: Where to burn incense sticks?
Do Buddhas approve Christian incense? Basically incense is made from plants, therefore and except if the incense was blessed and dedicated by the Church (I don't think it's the case, even if you buy it in a Christian store). Well, I see no real reason to don't use a "Christian incense" on...

Re: how to make an urgent needs be met with Buddhism?
This summer I received a "loung" with regard to several Texts; among them was a Text called something like " Homage to the Buddhas of the 8 Directions in order to gather all Auspicious things". Well, probably it isn't the exact name of this Text because many things was in Tibetan...

Re: Meditation music
For me the best music during meditation is silence, music can be a distraction.
But otherwise I appreciate very much music of relaxation.

Re: meditation is giving me orgasms! help!
I already heard that some people can cry occasionally while they meditate, in connection with the opening of their heart, when they feel "pure love" in some way. To cry is a physiological reaction and we can imagine other reactions, like yours. But it could be something separate from your ...

Re: Weather
Controlling weather to some extent does not imply omnipotence. This is very limited thinking. If you can build a dam, then you're stopping a river. Are you omnipotent? No, of course not. The point here is knowing how to do something. If you know how to change and control weather and have that capac...

Re: General questions on getting started
Hi Varis, Well, you don't need to decide right now about these questions in detail. Personally I don't know many things about Sakya and Gelug, nevertheless I remember that both sects emphasize a lot on studies. Why not choose to go to the Gelug center for practical reasons (one hour away) at first? ...

Re: Weather
Do buddhas have the ability to control the weather? I'm not sure but I don't think. A Buddha isn't an omnipotent God who can do everything. To have a better weather isn't really important ; nevertheless in case of natural disasters it is said that our wishes can have an impact, therefore more likel...

Hello everyone!
Hi everyone, I registered on Dharma Wheel lately in order to connect regularly with the Dharma and Buddhist practitioners. Actually I took refuge in the 3 Jewels this summer (Kagyu lineage, so Tibetan Buddhism). I live in France. More likely I will read you all more than I will participate activilel...
