Ah, I see. So what do you see as the difference? To make sure we are talking about the same thing? not much difference. both free from samsara So then you don't see why having a Buddha or an arahat in the world today would be useful? I realize this thread is a couple of months old and the OP has either solved his issues or given up in frustration. But for the sake of others or Kristopher, if he's still here the Joy of Living is an excellent suggestion. However, if not into Tibetan, perhaps Zen Mind Beginners Mind by Suzuki Roshi...

I'm in Bend. There's a Nyingma group here, but I feel no connection with the resident teacher. There is a Drupka Kagyu group in Salem (120 mi.), so I guess you're correct, but......My teacher was in New Zealand but "retired " about 5-6 years ago. Not sure why he's in Indonesia or even if h...
