Does Loppon still teach sometime
or is there a possibility for an audience?
How to obtain such information?

Thank you.

Re: Personal retreat suggestions - focus on semde

sharing dharmafootstep's notions on "not mixing" and "staying long time on one practice to go deep" I can tell you how I do it: I have the bunch of material I am inclined to do with me. Then I settle down, listen to my intuition in that particular moment of having arrived at my retreat spot and that...

Re: Merits from listening recorded chanting

I think activation of the own speech chakra is better
- and if this is humming or murmuring only
(rather than listening)

helpful for beings in the bardo states though
since the listening capacity is the last sense to fade
(not sure about the sense order when coming to existence)

... and yet you need to make effort to faithfully let go, offer to, dissolve into - whatever the practise to make the magic work Logic is needed to a certain point in order to then be abandoned (like the kullu which you use to cross the river and then you leave it behind, you won't drag it along wit...

Re: What Does Dzogchen Say About It’s Origins?

My impression is - correct me if I'm wrong - that the Dzogchen tries to work with a view that has no boss. There is Emptiness and there is plentitude and the mediation between these to, the aids to make us intertwined / unionized are the buddhas. Each has a function, each has another facet and each ...

Last week I stumbled over this post and found it very much worth thinking of. (which doesn't mean that I've gotten anywhere far with my thinking...) Bodhisattvas and No self or others? https://dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?t=24303&start=20 First Vasanas quote of James Low - thanks for that!! Here th...

Re: Being "in the thought"

Kind of a nit-picky question, but how would you explain the difference between being present "in" a thought in contemplation, vs. following a thought habitually? Well, in the end everything is just experience, a Variation of the ever-present, unchanging Topic Maybe your Question can be approached b...

Re: Discovering Tree Hugging

I think, it's a pitty to believe that trees are only pieces of wood with too many leaves which are dirt in autumn time. Jah, and all these leaves that need be collected to bring the garden in order again  A story of mine to share, if I may: I was in the forest for an anthropological weekend...

Re: Nagarjuna and the Nagas

Thanks all! Verry much appreciated. On the nagas: Do they vary in shape or are they all snake-like Do they live here or in their own realms somewhere else? Was (is??) it normal that someone receives a new name when something special has been accomplished or or is this reserved to the heroes like Nag...

Nagarjuna and the Nagas

I am not very learned, hence pls apologize my maybe stupid question: When Nagarjuna brought several Prajnaparamita texts from the nagas: - which texts were these? - was this (is this) Nagaland (East India)? - was it this journey though which he obtained his name? - I usually thought that the source ...

Re: Dream Yoga

A would second Johnny’s recommendation for the keeping of a dream journal. Record your dreams in as much detail as possible soon after waking ..they soon fade. This signals to the dreaming faculty the fact that you will listen carefully to what is being conveyed. One technique I have found useful i...

Re: Pausing sadhanas

Maybe to round it up with quotes from "Being Guru Rinpoche" by James Low: (…) That's one of the reasons why I myself don't like to do these tantric rituals with anyone else, because I like to do them in a way that makes sense for me. This means, if I do part of the practise and I don't like how I've...

Re: Why do monks and nuns deny Romantic Sexual Love?

V- each moment and again you can decide for yourself whether you engage in the fun part of life and endure the not-so-fun part - the full hammering spectre of samsara or if you choose the dharmic path until you sure enough can venture both at the same time whilst excepting you from the karmic treadm...
