Re: Who's gotten enlightened using only the mani mantra?

You are welcomed. The benefit is multiplied if one turns a mani prayer wheel while reciting the mani mantras. Trust me, this is the way they taught to practice traditionally. Scriptural source says that turning a mani wheel is the most meritorious deed that can be peformed by body and voice.

Re: Who's gotten enlightened using only the mani mantra?

There are alot of information in chinese language about practitioners who have attained some form of realisation or signs through merely reciting mani. One popular story line is illiterate folks growing an extra teeth after reciting a 100 millions mani mantras. maybe I'll try summarise you some case...

Oh no, don't say that. That means Advaita Vedanta was right! :rolling:
Why so? Even quantum field is not the ultimate.

Re: Depended arising

At some point someone is going to have to modify the Madhyamaka to include the fact that, on the level of quantum mechanics, things actually do pop into and our of existence all the time without cause. However, particles at level of quantum mechanics don't really pops out without any cause and cond...

Re: Depended arising

All phenomena is non-arising because they are negated of the four possible ways of production (or arising) in Madhyamika. The possible ways are 1) production (or arising) from self (i.e. the effect arises from the cause itself) 2) production from other 3) production from self and other 4) production...

Kalacakra war prophecy

The problem to me of an actual war is that unless it ends the kalpa or everyone converts to Buddhism you have waged a war. Someone can write saying the "gods" or the "enlightened ones" or the "good guys" fought a war for good. Then can be used to justify more bloodshed and the cycle goes on. Maybe ...

Kalacakra war prophecy

I have read that there has never been real religious wars. When people are willing to do a deeper analysis, it will unavoidably lead to fighting of limited resources as the main cause of war. Someone has did an analysis and it turns out that the land ISIS has controlled and sought to control is nev...

Re: Depended arising

I am actually interested in the independent arising . I know very well what karma is experiencing it on my back - my own karma. I can tell even when I said or thought very nasty things lessons come emedietely but gently. It's really bad at first sight, but to be honest it could have been worse so I...

Re: dalai lama refuse rebirth vs bodhisatva vow

Tulkus are not literal rebirths. If one fails to reach a Buddha Field, it is possible to be reborn as a tulku: " Lower Transference to the Nirmanakaya through Immeasurable Compassion: This form of transference is practiced by beginners on the path of accumulating who have received empowerment and r...

Re: Books about 13 Golden Dharmas?

Hi, It is becos Sakya has a unique tradition that a 2 days wangchen is required in order to receive any one day Jehnang (or people may call it blessing). I am not 100% sure of the reason but it could be that all the required vows and samayas are only obtained during a 2 days wangchen and it is only ...

Re: Rainbow Body - Why?

My Dzogchen notes say something about directing one's awareness at other being and that being will attain similar Buddhahood level as oneself. This I think is one of the unique benefit of attaining rainbow body? I guess there is no difference in the level of Buddhahood but there are differences in t...

i think genuine red sandal wood is supposed to be very expensive and quite impossible to get nowaday at a reasonable price. I think bodhi seed is a good choice but nowaday it is also getting forbiddingly expensive. Red coral can be used but it is also very expensive. I have heard that red carnelian ...

Re: Depended arising

Dependent arising means that everything arises out of causes and conditions. It is affirming the law of karma. A genuine understanding of dependent arising will refine our appreciation of the truth of law of karma and not the other way round.

Re: garuda as a yidam?

Garuda is one of the 13 Golden Dharmas in Sakya. Do all garuda practices originate from the Sakya school? Or have garuda practices originated from some of the other 4 schools of Tibetan Buddhism, as well? It is a wisdom Yidam, not a worldly protector. Does this mean that the garuda yidam should be ...

Garuda is one of the 13 Golden Dharmas in Sakya. It has the benefits of subduing Nagas induced diseases and obstacles. It is a wisdom Yidam, not a worldly protector. There are no teachings or sadhana on Yeti to date so no lama can give such an empowerment and teaching and therefore nobody will pract...

These days, many chinese have turned tibetan Buddhism and some of them seem to have links and connection to help secure some resources for the rebuilt. There already seem to have a s...
