Re: Buddhism / Nonduality Influenced Metal Bands

Well I don't know much about Buddhist/nondual in terms of metal - but I think this one is interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-G1bkpeMe4 Zyklon - Worm World (Norwegian metal band, now defunct - started out as black/death hybrid then turned death - members of various bands like Norwegian bla...

Bhavana, thank you for mentioning this.

Releasing animals into the wrong habitat is a serious crime, that Buddhists should be aware of.

I just got mail from the Webcast team: It is a closed webcast. So now there's no confusion about it. Also the 6th of Feb. was missing from above list.

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Freezecast URL worked fine for me in Winamp audio player, but http://www.shangshunginstitute.net/webcast/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; also works well for me in browser now.

Try another browser or clear cache and see if it improves.

Re: How "Old School" of an Internet user are you?

My friend started accessing BBS'es and IRC in the very early 90's with his Amiga4000. I didn't have a computer back then but got to try out at his place. Then in 1994 or 1995 I got to use the Internet for the first time. It wasn't until 1999 when I finally got a computer of my own - save for the Ami...

Re: Smoking tobacco

Non smokers and smokers are equally worth, so people shouldn't be treated as second class humans just because they are smoking. However, I am very fine with people not allowed to smoke in restaurants, bars, library, work place and so on. Very fine, because it means air quality is equal for all, and ...

Re: Smoking tobacco

I think that, apart from the issue of bad breath, possibility for cancer, and polluting the environment and so on, there is the issue of smoking blocking ones channels. And for a Vajrayana practicioner this is pretty crucial... Considering Guru Padmasambhava's instructions on this very particular to...

Re: Aro gTér Dzogchen Community of Ngak'chang Rinpoche

If you can choose between them and ChNNR, the choice should be pretty obvious...

So, ChNNR and his lineage, the Dudjom Ter, Longchen Nyingthig, Namcho, Khandro Nyingthig, and so on, these are far better choices...
