Re: Fat shaming

Reibeam, Magnus Samuelsson was also a Strongman competitor ( and a European arm wrestling champion before that agai n), he did not sit still. He was pretty much doing only the following three things, almost every day of the week, every week of the year, year in year out: Lift heavy things (a lot), e...

Re: Acknowledging Our Teachers.

Urgyen Dorje,

Simon E. is not an administrator nor a moderator on this forum. He's just a user, like you and I. And what he has posted here is just a suggestion to the management. That's what this subsection is for, suggesting things to the management. Not everything suggested goes through though.

Urgyen Dorje,

Luckily there's no "versus" with regards to Chogyal Namkhai Norbu and Chatral Sangye Dorje, in actuality. They are both on very friendly and respectful terms with each other:

Re: Meat Eating Mantras

pemachophel, That's not 'food' though... It's very common to eat chicken, beef, pork, fish, etc. but not at all common to eat human flesh. And I don't think that if I go to the store to look for human flesh, that I will find it. And chances are if I request human flesh to the store clerk, I will get...

Re: Namkhai Norbu and Vegetarianism

Urgyen Dorje, You are misreading Simon E.'s post, like you misread Malcolm's post. It is not the case that there are orthodox people holding the views of ChNN that are upset, and left the community. It is the case of people stuck on their veganism/vegetarianism, who left, because in their view, vega...

Re: Namkhai Norbu and Vegetarianism

Dan74, ChNN has always taught this (which is also why he is often referring to the well known citation from the Hevajra Tantra: " Those with compassion eat meat - those with samaya drink alcohol "). While some people are of the idea that he is sort of liberal, it is in fact the opposite. He is rathe...

Re: Mantra Liberation Through Hearing ("Ha Gan Ga")

Urgyen Dorje and smcj, Quite a number of very well respected masters all agree that live webcast empowerments/transmissions are 100% valid. The emphasis is on live however. The issue that has been going on for some time now on the forum, is whether recorded empowerments/transmissions are OK or not. ...

I out myself and declare my mongrel pedigree in advance. I spoke as an inji convert in this thread because I've been stopped at the door of a ganapuja by Asian Buddhists more than once and lectured about my lack of respect for "Buddhist culture" for bringing meat or alcohol, only to have the lama o...

I think there's just one stupa in Norway... Malcolm, Changchub Dorje had a terma for the construction of 108 special stupas to avert the Chinese invasion of Tibet, and these were never built. But could they be built outside of Tibet, and have a similar effect (on negativities)? Or do we need entire...
