Re: Rebel Buddha: On The Road To Freedom

Rinpoche discusses how Buddhism is adapted in every new culture where it takes root, whether that is Tibet, China, Japan, or America. Re: Empirical data and sunyata

Just a quick comment - Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche is a lineage holder in the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions. Never been a Gelugpa, afaik.

Thanks,

Re: Buddhist Prayer

Here's one take on prayer from a Tibetan Buddhist perspective from an interview on the Snow Lion website: Prayer, Awareness, and Choosing Enlightenment: An Interview with Anam Thubten [Author Anam Thubten] Jeff Cox: Sometimes when I'm troubled, I'm moved to pray. But as a Buddhist I don't think of i...

Re: Rev. Jason Carter

The connection to ordination through Karma Kagyu is fishy. "Karma Yeshe Wangpo" is apparently a western student of Thrangu Rinpoche who studied at Gampo Abbey. That certainly doesn't qualify him to "ordain" anyone a "buddhistava" (sic), whatever that is.

Re: Tulku: Divine birth, ordinary life

Looking forward to seeing the whole movie, saw the trailer and especially noted DKR's comment to Gesar, "We're still waiting for him to do what he's supposed to do." Gesar dropped in occasionally on e-sangha, perhaps he will visit us here. Have you seen "Samsara" by Pan Nalin? Very good also, and av...

"These days...many people want to skip everything and go directly to the completion stage. There are also those who, without having done any yidam practice or preliminaries, immediately want to do the yogic practices involving the subtle channels and energies.
