Re: Green Tara 28 Jun webcast

It is important to recite the mantra exactely like you received it, it's a transmission. Even if the master transmitted it with an error, you should reproduce the error, that's how it works. In a couple of day you should be able to listen again to the webcast, so you can have the perfect pronunciat...

Re: On Dealing with Destructive Emotions

Well said by all. Costantino Albini gives two methods for dealing with destructive emotions: 1) One for fresh practitioners or trainees, and 2) another one for more expert practitioners who are adept in the Dzogchen state of contemplation (and who probably, they are already aware of it through thei...

Re: On Dealing with Destructive Emotions

 It just seems to be what people do, always grasping after something. Me too, I am not completely free of doing this. As Rinpoche says, we do our best. Yes, true. We grasp after something, we lose presence, and while we are distracted in our illusory states, we produce destructive em...

Re: On Dealing with Destructive Emotions

Coming back to the real subject of the OP: Emotions and passions in the supreme vision of the Dzogchen path are therefore not an object of renunciation as in the monastic or sutra system, nor are they transformed into the corresponding wisdoms through a yogic or tantric method. They simply manifest...

you know, he does that all the time... he really doesn't give a sh*t about money. I remember one occasion where he took the money out of an envelope, gave the money back and said something like "I don't want that... but I keep this envelope 'cause I like it!" I confirm that ChNN Rinpoche never take...

Re: The Shape of Ancient Thought

Tingdzin, psyche and nous have still the same meanings in modern Greek. In fact, Greek has been alive through the centuries with only minor alterations. Of course, that does not mean all Greeks are aware of the depth of this language. And what I am saying here is mostly through the filter of my own...

Re: The Shape of Ancient Thought

I am sorry to say that the transfer of Greek philosophical terms to English is not always correct. Psyche is definitely irrelevant with mind. Moreover, I would say that psyche cannot be translated as soul either. Since psyche is connected exclusively with breathing. See the etymological differences...

Exactly!
ChNN Rinpoche's advice is not to run behind the action mantras too much.

Donwang is indeed an empowerment. Not in the form of elaborate initiation though, since it is not necessary in the levels of Anu and Ati Yoga.
The Dorje Drolod mantra is uploaded in the "Files" section of the Webcast website.

Re: The Shape of Ancient Thought

I am not a scholar, but since I have received a good education in Greek during this lifetime, I can say a few words about the meanings of "psyche" and "nous" in ancient and modern Greek language. Psyche (ψυχή) etymologically means breath, blow (ανάσα, πνοή), hence it can indicate the prana energy. ...

Re: Condoms Available to Monks in Bhutan

The fact that monks have been diagnosed with STDs and HIV leads to the conclusion that sexual contact is taking place also in between monks and lay people. It is very sad and perplexed situation! Not to worry, I think the more one looks at a situation like this, one understands that there is no Uto...

So, I am not surprised at all....
