Could you elaborate on that? I don't understand this distinction between interpretations and teachings you're making.

Re: Ole Nydahl's teachings

Before we start the discussion we should maybe wait for some input and see if somebody wants to add some other topics to the list.

Re: Ole Nydahl's teachings

Here is a list of points I think we should discuss: His Phowa teachings His take on Samayas His translation of stong pa nyid as space instead of emptiness And his translation of bde ba as joy instead of bliss His take on pure view His interpretation that having positive sense impressions is a form o...

Ole Nydahl's teachings

Hi all, I'm opening this thread because I suggest we discuss the teachings of Ole Nydahl here - and only his teachings. Can we please stay focused on this topic here and refrain from all other topics related to Ole Nydahl, such as the Karmapa affair and his role in it, his sexual conduct, and his po...

His new one is highly recommendable, too. http://khyentsefoundation.com/2012/03/rinpoches-newest-book-not-for-happiness/ I wonder if it is the same as the ngöndro commentary mentioned before? His restricted text on ngondro is excellent as well. http://www.siddharthasintent.org/teachings/publications...

eBook Reader and Tibetan Fonts

Hi, just bought myself a Sony PRS-T1 eBook Reader and downloaded some eBooks from http://www.tibetanebook.com/ because I was curious to see if Tibetan fonts work on this reader. Thx for this link. Is this book based on Kagyu sadhanas and vocabulary?

Re: An interesting academic analysis of Diamond Way

I'm not saying that the article is flawed because the author is a student of Nydahl's. If this appeared to be my thesis to any of you I apologize for the misunderstanding. In order to judge if the article is objective or not, of course one needs to investigate the article itself and analyze the argu...

Hi everybody

Hi all, nice to see so many people from eSangha here. I haven't been very active in internet forums during the last couple of years. On eSangha my name was emaho. Unfortunately that name seems already in use here. So my new username here is ReasonAndRhyme. I'm 44yrs and I practice mainly in the Nyin...

Re: An interesting academic analysis of Diamond Way

It gives an interesting and well researched, though at times biased, analysis of the Diamond Way centres and of their founder/leader Ole Nydahl that I thought people might be interested in reading and discussing. http://www.globalbuddhism.org/10/scherer09.htm#_ednref14" onclick="window.open(this.hr...
