Re: Buddhist way to counteract depression/sadness

Great idea! :)

Altought I remember reading somewhere in a topic - here in the Dharma Wheel forums - that prostrations have some techical details, you need a master/teacher to guide you so you can do it in a proper way and avoid physical damage (in your back for example).

Re: Buddhist way to counteract depression/sadness

Sometimes I have the strenght to think like that indeed: it will pass. But many times I am really down, and that will not work.

Re: Buddhist way to counteract depression/sadness

Thanks, really good advices Monlam, really :) I dont know to much about zazen, I think I must search some book or text to understand it better. I know some concepts behind zazen, but not completly how to apply it in my practice (I mean, I understand some theory on zazen, and only that). Nembutsu may...

Re: Buddhist way to counteract depression/sadness

Thanks all of you :)

I think that, as White Lotus said, I may be needing some medication. I am still a very weak person (I mean, far far away from being a good meditator), so I think that I may be needing to ask for profissional help...

Re: Buddhist way to counteract depression/sadness

I am asking this to read more ideas, but sometimes it works to concentrate (when I am able to do so, and thats rare) on my breath or just on Amitabha name. Nevertheless, it seems to take a lot to get some results. What about other ideas, like specific breath exercises, specific mantras to counteract...

Re: Question about my "anti healing powers" :(

Once agaon, thanks for all the answers (I read all of them carefully). From what I see, it seems that its just a coincidence. I mean, it seems that is not some kind of "witchcraft" or "bad karma" causing me to hurt others through prayers. My fear is that, for some karmic [from a past life] reason, I...

Re: Question about my "anti healing powers" :(

Thanks for all the answers so far.

I dont pretend to be a healer. Sometimes its just the wish to help with a pray or a mantra, but I think I fail even on that.

Question about my "anti healing powers" :(

Most of the time I think that I am not able to help healing people through prays, mantras, etc. I think I have the opposite effect when I want to help. When I was a teen boy, a truly believer in Christ and God, I used to pray for people in need. Most of the time they would not get better and in one ...

Re: A pray for my small kid

Thanks Johnny. I am worried these days because he got sick or with fever many times (specially know during Summer, when you expect mre diseases in winter) and I tought it could be something serious like a problem on his immunity system. It seems it is not, but even so I am still worried and depressed.

A pray for my small kid

My small kid laterly gets sick with ease, it seems that its nothing special, but I was worried. Today he has some fever.

Could you pray for him, to remove the sickness and improve his imunitary system?

Thanks!

Re: Bardo of death may be a problem for becoming lucid

Thanks all of you, for answering. Regarding the Jodo Shu practice: - In "Buddhism of Wisdow and Faith", and I dont know exactly where, they refer some cases where people couldnt rebirth on Pure Land for the lack of support (ie, people chanting "Amitabha" near the deceased). - Also, in the sutras I t...

Bardo of death may be a problem for becoming lucid

Every time I go to sleep I fall KO, loosing my senses and consciousness, as everybody does. And thats bad! It means that it will happen the same to me when I die: I will loose the oportunity to be lucid and remember "Oh, I died, so lets call Amitabha! Namo Amitabha Buddha!". Thats a problem for ever...
