Re: My new neighbor

Hello again everyone.. someone might remember me from a couple years ago. If not, that's ok. I just moved into a new place the beginning of May(almost a month and a half ago). I'm single and the first day I really connected with the women who lives right next to me, these units are veeery close tog...

Re: Losing track of everything in meditation.

I couldn't say what death is like. Maybe no one can. It may be that there is no such thing, at least not the way we think about it. The meditation I'm familiar with involving the lower dan tien is quite similar to my standard sitting practice, which comes straight out of the suttas/surtas on Ānāpān...

Re: Losing track of everything in meditation.

Torpidity It's possible to get some high-quality rest this way however, so I don't want to come down negatively on it. I can occur anywhere during meditation, in a wide variety of psychic or altered states, or simply the normal "consensual state" Sharpen your awareness, it mean you want to go deepe...

Re: Can all beings ever be liberated? The motivation of the bodhisattva.

Can each and every sentient being be liberated? Yes. Will each and every sentient being be liberated? How would an answer to this question lead a person to freedom from suffering? When we ourselves are liberated, all beings are liberated, and it really is true... Non-Duality. Simultaneously, we tak...

Re: original as misnomer

I often come across references to Original Mind, Nature, etc.in discussions of Buddhism (especially Zen). However, i don't see a lot of intellectual rigor in these discussions; if we break things down, Original is defined as 'inherent' or sometimes indicates a temporal reference, i.e. like a child....

Re: Two months of writing.

I am terrified... My mind has become warped, decayed, and blissfully forgetful of everything I've ever gained, In no more than a brief moment, you can lose everything, everything that means anything to you, like a thief stealing your heart in the middle of the night, I sleep woefully, and vigilantl...

Re: Two months of writing.

I think you will, too, and also think Khandro Rinpoche would be a wonderful person to visit even just once. I would imagine sangha around her would be able to arrange transportation or help in some way. Hmmm, I will try to find a way to get there, it's about an hour from me. Unfortunately, I used t...

The kind of thinking behind this thread is pure poison for the thinker. The level of hatred which seems to be acceptable for this guy should really give a practitioner pause for thought. not really. giving in to hatred, and anger is really easy, too easy. In fact it's the normal response, compassio...

To attain buddhahood ASAP. I'll have to second this one, I dislike that man more than most trust me.. but why hold hate in your own heart just because someone else is an asshole? It only hurts you. Re: Yidams on a bikini

If anything I think we should have compassion for these people.. they are running around wearing powerful images that invoke compassion and wisdom on their asses no less.

Too bad they don't have the good fortune to realize exactly what that image on their ass is capable of eh?

Re: Two months of writing.

Nope. I just listen, read, learn, and practice. Well, I can't say totally no telepathy, ESP, lucid dreaming, and non-corporeal beings, But why not try to find a real flesh & blood buddhist teacher ? I also feel the presence of "others" watching over me....but it's nice to also have the real face to...

I didn't really train the later part enough. Do you have a buddhist teacher Jesse ? Nope. I just listen, read, learn, and practice. Well, I can't say totally no. It's not something I should probably share as most would think I'm crazy,(well I am crazy, haha, but being crazy isn't mutually exclusive...

Re: Two months of writing.

Thank you, Jesse. I think these are intense prose-poems. I also think if you can express what you're going through this well that you can compass the experience and by doing so find it has dimensions. And things like antidotes, transformations, and realizations both relative and absolute. I also pa...
