Re: Yantra Yoga: What can you practice without transmission?

http://www.shangshungstore.org/index.php?l=product_detail&p=433 What practices can you practice from these DVDs without transmission? Thanks in advance. :thanks: These DVDs are available in the "public shop". They therefore do not require any special lung per say. Also, this DVD does not contain an...

Re: Adzom Drugpa's Vajrakilaya

Is it much different than the Kama Vajrakilaya? Most terma Kilaya's are not much different it seems, maybe slightly different implements in hands, etc. Your right, generally they are really similar. My experience is primarily with the form used in the Ratna Lingpa practice, in comparison to the for...

Re: Kusum Lingpa's Vajrapani

There are several, jikan. Most notably, you could get it from Lingtrul Rinpoche or Sungtrul (Dodrupchen) Rinpoche, Tulku Sherdor in NY, and probably from several Chagdud Gonpa Lamas as well. In addition Hung Kar Rinpoche travels to the USA annually. Ngodrup, Slightly off topic but.... Have any of t...

Re: Jobs for Western Chod Practitioners

Loren, I think you are right and that is really what I am getting at. Being in a position to help. This thread is not really about practicing chod at a funeral home or some manicured cemetery or trying to make comparisons of places of death. Trying to making comments about about the superiority of a...

Re: Jobs for Western Chod Practitioners

Thanks, I will correspond with him as he is my teacher. My trajectory towards Hospice, Mortuary Science/Funerary Arts is far older (starting around age 15) than my formal experience on the path (only a handful of years) . This is no attempt to run to the charnel ground as it may seem. I am just comf...

Re: Jobs for Western Chod Practitioners

Good point, I was planning on asking chNN what he thought. Being around corpses is not entirely new for me, but dealing with them on a daily basis is.

I know there are the obvious risks that are part of any medical profession, but i am curious about the not so obvious ones if there were any.

Jobs for Western Chod Practitioners

With the efficacious power and results that can come with secondary practices in conjunction with guru yoga here is an open question for all, but it does directly reflect my own situation. My wife and I have been practicing a lot of Chod recently (specifically the short practice used by the Dzogchen...

Excellent Chod Drum for Sale

Dear Dharmawheelers and Chod practitioners, Recently, I became aware of someone selling a chod drum and bell on ebay. I just bought the nine prong five metal bell they had for sale, but the drum still remains. Any interested chod practitioner should consider this drum as it would be better used by a...

Re: Next webcast on Chöd with Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche?

That lung is only for the short DC practice right? I don't think he gives the longer Jigme Lingpa practice or the lung for the Chod ganapuja usually at the end of retreats (maybe he did and I am not sure, I attended every webcast in 2014). I would really like to get a lung for the Chod ganapuja. Not...

Dorje Drollo Guru Dragphur Vajrakilaya And Sang and Serkyem offerings, Simhamukha, or in some cases Soul Retrieval, Vajra Armor, Red Garuda, or Black Manjushri. Oh and as Mr. G also mentioned of course Green Tara, and Odzer Chenma. Also, isn't there a Buddhist Ganesha Yidam (the Remover of Obstacle...

Moving to Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Hello All, My wife and I are moving from Kansas City, MO to Pagosa Springs CO next week. I thought I would reach out on here in hopes to connect with anyone who lives in Pagosa that might want to say hi or do collective practice (or teach flatlanders like us how to hike in the mountains) :rolleye: ....

Tsa Tsa Making and Various Traditions

I was wondering if the making of TsaTsa images is practiced in all schools of Buddhism? I know that it is very common in the Gelugpa school and is part of ngondro, but i am curious about its practice within Nyingma and Dzogchen, does anyone know of a good source to learn about this? I read that insi...

Re: leg pain in meditation

I also sit Burmese style. Here are several things I do to help ensure it's comfortable: * alternate which leg is on the inside between sessions * lean forward on your cushion while you bend your inmost leg in a very natural and comfortable way, not overstretching it, then settle back onto the cushi...
