Re: Nechung Kuten Recognizes Yeye Omilf

Yet.. SHE had the KARMA to meet him, and discuss their dreams ....and HE was convinced enough that SHE IS THE emanation of Mamaki...and took ONE year to prepare for this elaborate thing....don't you think something could have or would have stopped this if it wasn't valid ? Do you think the Oracle o...

Re: Nechung Kuten Recognizes Yeye Omileye

 I wouldn't regard someone posting such a thing as being knowledgable in vajrayana. Now,I'm very convinced that she's just part of that new age family who wants to use vajrayana for their own ends. Oh, c'mon, they have Dorje Legba in Vajrayana and they have Papa Legba in Voodoo; can't you see...

Re: Nechung Kuten Recognizes Yeye Omileye

The lengths she went to make her sound ‘legit’ was just ridiculous. And it’s pretty clear that she regards Mamaki as some other ‘worldly’ goddess :toilet:

Re: Santa La Muerte

I have never heard of meditation creating suicidal thoughts. What kind of meditation are you doing? Are you first generating bodhicitta? It may be not be a thing for most of us but it’s very real for some practitioners.I’ve personally heard of a meditator who did just that.Though it’s hard to know ...

According to the Buddha unwholesome sexual activity (sexual misconduct) is basically any non-consensual activity, or sexual activity with somebody that is married or betrothed. That's it.
Yup,it’s that simple.Sometimes, tradition makes it a lot more complex :rolleye:

Well, this is a Khenpo’s view on the homosexual thing. :quoteunquote: Unskillful but not a major downfall. And the Buddhist view of ‘unskillful behaviour’ is pretty different from the Judeo-Christian ‘sin’.That applies to Tibetan Buddhism too.By the way Tārā and the rest are not gods :quoteunquote: Re...

Re: Merging Theravada vipassana with the Tibetan version

Depends on what you mean by Theravada Vipassana. Depends on what you mean by Tibetan practice. If you try to square doctrine s and match labels you will be pretty frustrated. If you think instead about the skills you’re developing, you may find cross-applications. Plenty of folks have practiced bot...

Merging Theravada vipassana with the Tibetan version

Hello, I just completed a ten-day retreat with my Theravada vipassana teacher. And whenever I complete a retreat,I feel very inspired to practice. But I really struggle trying to merge the two practices. They agree on some points but go on different ways.Should I practice them separately or try and mer...

There is definitely some sort of Indian parallel, since ro-lang are mentioned in the Praise to 21 Taras.

Re: Ro-Lang

Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche in blazing splendor tells a tale about how a lama with his "ro-lang" assistant stops over for a night at Shakya Shri's encampment on their journey to dispose it at a charnel ground in India. His description of it looks rather like a mummy than a western zombie or a hopping corps...

For me it doesn't really matter either my guru can be glorious vajradhara or a fat monk in rags with an unsighty mole he would still represent the same thing.Being said that I'm still not so sure whether I'm playing around with fiction or pure view. But there is some sort of instantaneous reaction go...

Re: Guru Mantra?

An amusing (loosely related) anecdote: A (Greek) Lama friend of mine was driving some Karma Kagyu monks to the airport after a retreat and they were cut off by another car that nearly crashed into them. As this happened the Westerners in the car were like: "Shit!", "Oh, no!" Whereas the monks excla...
