Re: Was the Buddha "FULLY" enlightened?

I hope we can have a polite yet critical discussion on this topic. I especially liked the word "polite" here..... So there it is, can you be fully enlightened without facing all the challenges that married life in Samsara and Nirvana can throw at you? Can I? I dunno. But I think we've indicated tha...

Re: White hat Karma Kagyu Lama

The late Kyabje Kalu Rinpoches Guru Yishin Norbu was known as the White Crown Lama. According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shangpa_Kagyu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; And here is a pic of the current TsaTsa Drubgön Rinpoche whose former incarnation recieved the white c...

Re: Ngondro

lisehull, just in case you decide to stick with your practice of the traditional ngöndro, allow me to make a few suggestions. I dont really think you can just decide what to approach to choose. as soon as you as are on the path of Vajrayana your decisions have some consequences. As they say...

Re: Ngondro

Despite the lineage diff, WOMPT is a VERY good book! Also the guide to it as well. I don't disagree at all, the video is excellent too, especially the added features with the interview with DK, but it ain't Kagyu ngondro. DN was reccomending lisehull try ngondro from another tradition since she was...

Re: Tibetan Buddhism...

The peoples I find on places such as these that have dislike of HHDL to my experience they usually have a political or political agenda problem. Here's a post from the thread (His post): "I strongly dislike the entire Lama paradigm. I also think Tibetan Buddhusm is the worst form of Buddhism in exi...

This relatively short Tsethar text by the great Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo comes with a recommendation of Kyabje Chatral Rinpoche

Re: Lama Ole Nydahl, what do you think?

Lama Ole is mostly disliked and smeared in the US because he supports Karmapa Trinlay Thaye Dorje and thwarted an attempt by the Shambala organization to co-opt the seat of the Karmapas after the 16th passed in the 80s. No, Ole was disliked before that. Trungpa thought he was an idiot. N So funny c...

Re: naga offering

As you seem to be somewhat affiliated to Benchen maybe it is of interest for you that Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche often prescribes the practice of Chenrezik SengeDra(Avalokiteshvara Singhanada) in cases of Naga related sicknesses. The polish resident Lama Rinchen can give this Wang and also it is not so l...

Re: Im thinking of exploring Vajrayana..any advice?

btw Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche gave an excellent pithy teaching on "Calling the Guru from afar" near Berlin last year. Re: Im thinking of exploring Vajrayana..any advice?

The 8 verses aren't vajrayana - they're mahayana. You can practice them now, without a teacher, if you want. This is very true but the texts need explaining and there are specific practices associated with the texts (like tonglen for example) that need to be learnt. Here is a practice that has find...
