Re: Dzogchen Teaching is Free From Limitations
"Because we are in dualism vision, so we do our best." ChNN Which implies success in the practice requires effort on the part of the student - logical really and quite obvious. Which is the same for all paths taught by the Buddha. So while dzogchen teaching may be free from limitation realization n...

Re: Dzogchen Teaching is Free From Limitations
What is meaningful and useful to know is that when we are in our real nature, then it accomplishes the task Buddha taught. It stops the emotional urges. Like the ones that make us keep proving things to one another. The implication here is that just now you're not in your real nature and so my ques...

It's common for people to criticize T. Lobsang Rampa and dismiss him as a fraud and charlatan which he undoubtedly was and yet the number of people whose interest in dharma was triggered by reading his books is astonishing....

Sincere thanks DN. I really appreciate what you guys do and how difficult it must be to moderate the forum and that without you it would quickly degnerate into an unmanageable fiasco. After so many years of dharma practice it would be nice if there was less ego and more humility but I guess that jus...

Re: One thing that kinda bothered me...
The other day in the general section of the Tibetan Buddhist forum, there was a multi-page thread about "Is this still a Buddhist Forum?" or something to that effect. Anyhow, I was reading it, went to take a nap, and when I had woken up from the nap and went back to look at the thread it apparently...

Re: Dzochenpa Census
Why'd Tilopa's thread disappear? Is that the one you're referring to Yudron? I saw it was locked by Astus, and now it's been removed from Dharmawheel history permanently? My hunch is that the staff is trying to figure out what to do with it. Perhaps it is only down temporarily. You know, I assume a...

Re: "Purifying" karma?
Purification in this context refers to neutralizing karmic imprints which have been created and implanted on the mind - in this and previous lives - through negative actions of body, speech and mind. Unless they are purified they will ripen in the form of suffering experiences, either as a lower for...

Out of respect for truth and Dharma please do some research. It is the least we can do. I had no dog in this fight until I saw how bad it really was. Then I had no choice but to get involved. As I said if there's proof OK in which case the right thing to do is to get it out there so people know. Ju...

A woman who has been under psychiatric care for years, takes multiple psychiatric drugs and tops them off with gin and marijuana.. Is there any evidence that this is true? I mean how do you know? You're stuck in a ridiculous religious delusion; I have no interest in it. You're also being very rude! Where's the "humility, acceptance, perseverance and wisdom" in this reply....... Re: My Open Message to Gyatrul Rinpoche
I studied this stuff with a lama. I am up on it. What exactly is mind training of this kind for? It's to tame the "self" within the context of studying with a lama to move on from "selfishness." Yes but it's also to train the mind so that you understand every problem that arises in your life as som...

Does the practice of Dzogchen lead to Buddhahood?
If so it is a Buddhist path.
If not it is an inferior teaching.

Re: Tsong Khapa, form realm shamatha and emptiness
Now, I have a question. John Powers has suggested that Tsongkhapa asserts that, "only people who have directly realized emptiness and who have an unusually keen wish to benefit others are suitable vessels for highest yoga tantra." Can anyone supply a reference for such a statement. I can't supply a...
