Re: Dharma Wheel (Engaged)

Politics, however they make the intellect active, sagacious, and inventive, within a certain sphere, generally extinguish its thirst for universal truth, paralyze sentiment and imagination, corrupt the simplicity of the mind, destroy that confidence in human virtue which lies at the foundation of p...

137 views of my post to date. Anybody take a look at the book yet? I did, using the Look Inside at Amazon. It is appealing, but I am reading less now, so do not know if I will get this one. If you knew him personally or know someone who knew him well, give us a little biography and how he impressed...

Re: Dharma Wheel (Engaged)

What 'became problematic'? If you mean the Engaged section here is no problem here, then why extend the invitation here to leave & go to the new site? Where did I say "leave"? One can post on all forums, if interested. Where did I say 'leave permanently''? One must 'leave' to sign up there. Still m...

Re: Dharma Gems

The 'wisdom being Mañjuśrī' is fundamental bodhicitta. Great, primal wisdom contemplates equality, and compassion concerns itself with the welfare of transient beings.

5 Rays of sun do not penetrate a cave facing north; that is the genuine nature of things. Nevertheless, because light can shine into cavities facing other directions I decided to produce something to clear away enveloping darkness. 6 Setting aside religion, progress even in ordinary affairs depends...

Re: om Mani Padme Hung Meaning

The Mani is very profound, here is bodhisattva Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche on some of its riches: Chenrezi's six-syllable mantra, OM MANI PADME HUM, is the compassionate wisdom of all the Buddhas manifested as sound. Within it is contained the essential meaning of all eighty-four thousand sections of th...

should do the same thing here.
the only reason it doesn't cause strife here is because those who are in the minority know to keep quite since the mods will shut down any dissenters

Re: Happy Saka Dawa 2018, May 29

A Tibetan Sage said that one must follow Indian time to do Saka Dawa 'right': According to the late Ven. Choden Rinpoche, one of Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s teachers, observation of auspicious days should be according to the date in India, not the date in one’s home country. Therefore, when Lama Zopa Rinpo...
