Re: Proper sequence of deity practices

No, it is implied that you would do them separately.
GR, Chenresig Tara or maybe Gr, Tara, Chenresig
But the protectors are within the context of whatever
the lineage sadhana requires.

Re: Tsok restrictions

Again, if you feel comfortable with the teacher,
then accept the invitation. Dharma doesn't punish,
it only blesses. Dharma activity is only beneficial.
If the teaching is pure, the Lama and practitioners
genuine and sincere... then do not be afraid.

Re: Tsok restrictions

Chod is clearly based on the prajnaparamita,
it is something to get acquainted with. Aspire
and ask the teacher.

Re: Proper sequence of deity practices

There's a kind of natural sequence, I think. Sang is typically done in the morning, along with offering bowls-- opening the shrine kind of things. Then maybe you practice some peaceful pujas such as Tara... especially if you are not vegetarian but the practice in questions is maybe kriya. (before yo...

Re: How can long-life prayers benefit lamas?

Wishing for your Lama's longevity, continued activity and success can definitely benefit you
and your practice. Further, if you have a relationship with that Lama, it certainly supports
the relationship, helps keep samaya pure etc. Does that affect you, them, and the relationship?

Re: Information on special pujas and associated monasteries

The benefit of working with Tshog Dag are amazing.
The request and funds go directly to Dodrupchen Rinpoche's
monastery, where he resides and is permeated with his
wisdom and siddhi. I would not hesitate.

Re: Mantras,mantra wheels,etc

It might be useful to know a particular mantra if you have a specific problem. Some are from Sutra, others are from Tantra. But certain mantras are a universal medicine. Would you like to know them? Om Ah Hung (the enlightened body, speech and mind.) Chenresig-- Om Mani Peme Hung Guru Rinpoche-- Om ...

Re: Vajrayana practice without empowerment

Generally speaking it would be the same as having lung.
Permission to recite, but maybe not the full practice.
Again clarify with the Lama. Sometimes having another
empowerment will suffice for being allowed to practice more
aspects.

Re: Siddhas and Supernatural Powers and Guru Finding and Tib

A closer Lama: http://anizamba.flavors.me/ Now, about those mantras. You say: "The Tipitaka says so much that PRACTICE is the key, how could a simple chant, one single time, can provide me a rebirth in a land of pure Dhamma." I say: Quite simply. Mantra recitation *is* Practice authorized by Sutra a...

Re: Siddhas and Supernatural Powers and Guru Finding and Tib

Looks to me like you've got it all, then.
Lama Tsering is the real deal.
Do the Ngondro, Red Tara is pure magic.
Chod will transform everything. So will Vajrakilaya.
Yes, headaches are normal phenomena in this.
And best yet, do the drupchens that are offered there.

Re: Siddhas and Supernatural Powers and Guru Finding and Tib

You don't have to go to the East to see phenomena. If you're American, just go to Tara Mandala in Colorado. They have a hand print put in rock by Adzom Palyo Rinpoche as recently as about 2000 when he was here. Or, as Motova points out, practice and you'll see plenty of strange things that don't eas...

Re: Self-Generation improvement

According to my teachers, it boils down to faith. (Of course that can be difficult for westerners.) But, the instruction I've heard again and again on "Divine Pride" is you take your visualized object, whichever deity and say, "that''s me!" If you believe it, it's so. Now, how to believe it? That bo...

Re: Some advice

What you are contemplating sounds quite good. If you are doing it as a retreat, then accumulate as much mantra as possible. Even if not in retreat, accumulate. What I don't see is much offering, so I would add offerings such as lights, water-bowls, or incense daily. In other words add generosity, wh...

Re: Kusum Lingpa's Vajrapani

I don't remember Lama Sang ever giving the wang for Rigdzin Acharya Pema. I remember him giving the lung. So, I wouldn't be concerned. But, if you wanted a particular major wang, I might ask Dodrupchen (Sungtrul) Rinpoche, if you can meet him, because he does live in the USA. And He is amazing in hi...
