Re: The problem of nihilism

Vimalakirti432, Alan Wallace wrote an excellent essay on this subject, and I thought you might like to read it: Distorted Visions of Buddhism: Agnostic and Atheist By B. Alan Wallace As Buddhism has encountered modernity, it runs against widespread prejudices, both religious and anti-religious, and ...

Re: SMS online Training Sunday from Conway ?

I believe if you've already registered for this course you will be emailed a link to access the recorded teaching the day after the teaching has ended. Also, I'm fairly certain that you will not be able to access it through the webcast site. You should be able to get all the information you need at ...

Re: Shenphen Dawa Rinpoche on Reading Dzogchen Books

Shri Singha didn't just write it down and publish it widely in Tibet-- Since Shri Singha lived in the 8th century and (I'm assuming) woodblock printing was not easily accessible in Tibet at the time (and the printing press had not yet been invented), wouldn't it have been nearly impossible for him ...

Re: Dzogchen and the Blind

Thanks. It looks like my question (and others like it) has already been explored in-depth in the "Dzogchen is Free from Limitation" thread you provided the link to. I'll have to read that thread now.

Re: Dzogchen and the Blind

Also, it seems like it might be impossible for a congenitally blind person to practice thogal.

Re: Dzogchen and the Blind

Yes. I'm familiar with dark retreat, but I have not completed one myself. However, maybe dzogchen would not be any easier or harder for a blind practitioner, because those with both acquired and congenital blindness still experience some imagery that can be used to create a habitual dualistic patter...

Dzogchen and the Blind

This is a purely academic question that I'm only asking out of curiosity: Do you think it would be easier or more difficult for a blind person (especially a congenitally blind person) to practice Dzogchen to completion in this lifetime?

Re: Yungdrung Bon Portal

Great site! This will be very helpful. One question, Kalden. Do you know if Latri Nyima Dakpa's "Heartdrops of Dharmakaya" retreat at Ligmincha Houston is still scheduled? It is one of the retreats listed on the portal, and just the other day I emailed someone at Ligmincha Houston about it and was t...

Can Togal Visions Spontaneously Occur

Can togal visions spontaneously occur to someone who has practiced trekchod for over 10 years, even if that person has not received transmission for togal?

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

I attended ChNN's 2012 NYC retreat but I did not write down the lungs he transmitted for that retreat. If anyone one did document the lungs he gave at that retreat, please reply or PM me with a list of what he transmitted.

Thanks.

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Dear Vajra Brothers and Sisters, I am a DC practitioner who lives in central Pennsylvania (near Harrisburg), and I am looking for any other DC practitioners who live within a 100 mile radius of Harrisburg so I may contact them to see if they are interested in getting together for group practice. If ...
