Re: Buddhahood vs Buddhism

I try learn from my mistakes and not get stuck doing the same things over and over. At the same time, I try to see my own strengths, and appreciate others when possible.

That's putting it politely. I don't always do that, I'm not always good at it, but that's my approach.

I think I usually go with MLA. Not sure about Chicago style. I just remember that when everyone went from two spaces after a period to one I was shocked.

Re: Winter festivities

The Christmas - New Year week is as near as we get to an extended national holiday. Christmas lunch is usually a matter of seafood or barbeques - or both - and is usually followed by an ice-cream plum pudding and a siesta. Every family with young children spends the rest of the week at the beach, c...

Welsh people would of course protest that they aren't English!
But yes it's lovely. My daughter used to read Dyan Thomas's original story every Christmas when she was a girl.
Yes, maybe I’ll read it this year.ithink there’s also a good version of him reading it out loud. What a voice.

Sure, there are a lot of ways to go. What you mention is also practice-based, which is good a lot of times. That's the approach I took after a certain point.

Re: Dont follow a lineage (etc.), follow a teacher

Yes. The teacher is the most important thing. But looking at lineages can be worthwhile too, just less so. This happened to me with Shambhala. I joined because of Trungpa, took some classes, hung out at the center for a few years. I didn't find my teacher there, but it was a first step, and it expos...

Re: Garchen Vajrakilaya and More

I'm confused, I thought you were asking for a copy.

So you have a hard copy? I'm looking for a pdf. Been in contact with the institute, looks like they are busy and it will take some time to iron out. Out of stock of the hard copies right now at the webstore.

Of Vajrakilaya you mean? I've been working on it. Maybe you meant a schedule for the whole thing.

Re: Garchen Vajrakilaya and More

Yes, glad I was a little patient with this one. I almost walked out twice, once while waiting for it to start, once in the middle as they were figuring out the camera. But they made it work just in time, and I am very glad. I will update here with info about the text once I get it. If anyone else he...

Re: Garchen Vajrakilaya and More

Sounds like we will take a break and then come back in about 20 min.

I've been pestering them to stay with the first camera view, but this is not happening. What they're going with is basically just audio. This seems to work well, so I'm going to stop bothering them about the camera now.
